Angolino is a lovely 3 bedroom villa situated a short 1.5km walk away from Radda in Chianti, one of the five main historical towns of the Chianti. The villa is located at the end of a quiet road and is ideal for visiting the beautiful Chianti region with its rolling vine and olive tree covered hills.

Angolino has a lovely terrace around the villa perfect for dining al fresco or just to sit and enjoy the wonderful countryside. In the well-maintained garden there is a simple above ground swimming pool, which is good for a cooling dip after a warm day sightseeing.

To enter the villa you cross a terrace that surrounds part of the house. To one side of this terrace there are steps that bring you to the solarium, with its wonderful view, on the roof of the house.

The lounge is furnished with comfortable low leather chairs. To one side there is a fireplace in terracotta. The floor is tiled with typical terracotta tiles. Along one wall there is a wall unit with TV and video player.

From the lounge you can access the fully equipped kitchen that includes fridge/freezer, oven, gas hobs and dishwasher. In the kitchen there is a small dining table. The owners of Angolino can provide a laundry service should you need it.

To the other side of the lounge up 3 steps you pass under a beautiful stone arch into a large dining area that can seat comfortably 6 people. This room has a wonderful fish bone terracotta floor and wooden beams on the ceiling. To one side there is a coloured glass door leading outside to the terrace.

Through the dining room you enter a bright double bedroom that has a door that leads out onto the terrace and to the stairs to the solarium. This bedroom has a small en-suite bathroom with shower.

The other two bedrooms are accessed from the lounge; one is a twin room with the possibility on request when booking to be made into a double.

The other bedroom is with a double bed. These two bedrooms share a bathroom that has a tub and shower.

Laundry - owners provide a laundry service twice a week at no extra charge
SAT TV is news only
Parking space available for 3 cars

Pros We had a wonderful week, and found Clara and Paolo to be friendly and helpful hosts. The garden is small but beautiful, with lots of areas for catching the sun or the shade. The solarium was a great favourite with extensive views of the Tuscan countryside. The kitchen was well equipped. A real highlight was Clara preparing a pizza night for us - three courses: pasta, pizza and dessert plus wine which we ate on the patio.
Cons The directions to the property were not fully clear.
Local attractions Radda in Chianti is lovely, and we were fortunate enough to be there on the fourth Monday of the month when there is an afternoon market at which we got many bargains!

Pros Fabulous roof terrace with amazing views well worth carrying trays of breakfast, lunch, drinks or supper. Pool was clean and well cared for. Screen of vines and olive trees gave privacy in the garden. Owners living next door were very friendly but our Italian and their English didn't make for much conversation. Position of house at top of village just outside Radda was perfect. We found a lovely vineyard restaurant nearby, went wine tasting at a large vineyard and a tiny one, drove to Sienna. We had 1 showery day when we explored hill forts of Monteriggioni and Poggibonsi and ended up in sunshine in the market at Gaoile in Chianti. We also made a short trip to Greve in Chianti. All thoroughly recommended and the countryside is stunning. The house had plenty of room for the wet day and playing games at the dining room table. 3 good sized double rooms and all well kitted out. Worth noting that he sells his own olive oil and has bottles of wine from Albola for sale cheaper than you can buy from the vineyard or the wine shop in Radda. Coop in town was sufficient for all our needs.
Cons 1 distant neighbour's dog slept all day but barked in the night!
Local attractions Good shops for handbags/shoes in Radda and Monteriggioni, Gift shops in Radda and Greve. Old Butcher's shop in Greve. Monteriggioni is a fascinating hill fort and the ancient ruins of hill fort at Poggibonsi were huge with an amazing view. Vineyards: large one at Albola and a delightful small one with really delicious wine at Val Dell Corti just west of Radda. Drove back from Sienna via Castello di Brollio but needed to book 24 hrs ahead for tour of castle and a wine tour and by then it was hot so we didn't go back. The Baron's ancestor invented the Chianti wine. Gaoile was a pretty town, market good for fruit and veg and the return journey up the Valley to North was roller coaster with fantastic views. Sienna is always a delightful day out but need to book for Cathedral and Tower. Restaurants in Radda were good. Wine bar on the square friendly, Le Vigne restaurant in vineyard on East side of Radda was lovely. The Tourist office in Radda was useful but she told us the Church was never locked and yet only one of our party ever found it unlocked! The delicatessant/grocery store in Radda is quite an attraction and there is a good looking butcher in the town but I think his prices were more than the Coop!

Pros Location was amazing. The owners were so accommodating with whatever we needed. they took care of things very efficiently. we felt at home right away.
Cons the accommodations were perfect for us. I would have loved to have my own laundry facilities even though the owners did our laundry.
Local attractions we were able to visit nearby towns only minutes away. Very convenient. Volpaia was probably our favorite after meleto.

Pros We loved our stay at Angolino. We are a family with young adults and everybody was pleased with the villa, the pool and especially the terrace with it's amazing view! The location makes it close enough to visit the most important cities in the region. Clara and Paul we're very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable.
Cons We did not experience anything negative staying at Angolino.
Local attractions We visited San Gimignano, Siena, Florence, Pisa and of course Radda in Chianti. We also visited two vine yards, Castello Di Brolio and Castello Di Verrazzano which were very interesting.

Pros Spacious and comfortable. Very well equipped kitchen. Covered patio areas and a WONDERFUL rooftop terrace with great views. Clara was very friendly and helpful.

Having local wines available for purchase at the property, at a very reasonable price, was an unexpected perk.
Cons A little hard to find - the directions weren't clear enough and we had to call to ultimately reach the destination. Which was challenging as Clara's English isn't very detailed. The parking space is very tight for two cars.
Local attractions The small grocery in Radda is fantastic. Friendly people and wonderful artisan products. Castella d'Albola is worth the steep and windy drive. Beautiful views and great wine. http://www.albola.it The gelato in Castellina is outstanding. Great pizza as well.

Pros Great to have our own space and the pool. Having he owner next door was also great as she assisted us with many things. Things to do, where to eat. She even did our washing and husband made us wine. Amazing owners clara and paul.
Cons Nothing. It was amazing. The slightest feedback would be the water was a little cold even on full heat. How minor!
