Capanna di Camporata is a fantastic Chianti cottage located within walking distance to the town Gaiole in Chianti in the heart of Tuscany. This Tuscan villa has been lovingly restored to a high standard with plenty of care also put into the garden and terraces.
Outside the cottage is a large covered, furnished terrace which looks down onto the small, sunken pre-fabricated pool which is surrounded by a pretty, stone paved sun deck. Next to the pool is a second furnished terrace. The entire garden is well maintained with lovely lawns and pretty local plants and shrubs.
Inside the Tuscan villa is a large open plan room with a fireplace in one corner. Around this are two comfortable armchairs, making it a perfect place to relax during the cooler Spring and Autumn evenings. The room is cool in the Summer and warm in winter due to the high, typical Tuscan chestnut wood and terracotta ceiling.
To one side of the room is a wooden dining table with four chairs, while the kitchen unit is along two walls providing plenty of work space. It is a fully equipped kitchen and includes an oven, gas hobs and a small fridge with internal freezer compartment and a built-in microwave oven. This open plan room has plenty of light from the two glass doors, one providing access to the loggia and the other to the parking area.
To one side is access to the attractive bathroom with shower and the romantic double bedroom. The bedroom is decorated in shades of white which makes it a bright room enhancing the beauty of the terracotta paved floor. Against one wall is a built in triple wardrobe with shelving and hanging space. Also in the room is a small bookcase with several books.
There is a neighbouring villa which is protected from view from the garden by hedges and trees.
This traditional Tuscan cottage has no central heating. Heating for the cooler seasons is provided by the wood burning fireplace insert with hot air circulation and by electrical radiators.

Pool Info
The pool is situated in the lovely garden, just below the covered terrace. There are steps down from the terrace to the large stone paved sun deck that surrounds the pool. To one side are a couple of sunbeds and an umbrella, providing a lovely spot to relax while enjoying the peace of the Chianti hills that surround this little Tuscan villa.
To one side of the pool is a second terrace furnished with a table and chairs, this is a sunny terrace. The pool is a sunken, prefabricated pool with metal steps to enter. It is 3.5x6.5 metres and 1.2 metres deep, it's open from mid-May to mid-October weather permitting.
Nearest town
The nearest town is Gaiole in Chianti where there is a selection of shops and restaurants. This town is about 800mts away from Capanna di Camporata.

Lovely villa, beautifully furnished. The garden was well thought out with a herb garden and different seating areas. We enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace under the verandah. Would definitely recommend this villa.
Maybe a little close to the road, but fortunately it is a very quiet road, so not too much of an issue.
Ideally situated to walk into the nearby town, which had a restaurant and a small supermarket. There was also a great restaurant on top of the hill opposite.

Lovely well looked after villa and pool, perfect for the two of us. Brilliant location to tour Tuscany's beautiful countryside. Quiet surroundings, could hardly hear the karaoke on the Friday (from the Ristorante at the top of the nearby hill). Our stay was perfect, would visit again.
Pool was a bit cold, but we did visit in October so to be expected I guess. Bit close to the road, but there isn't much traffic anyway.
The ristorante at the top of the nearby hill was lovely. The nearby town is only a 10 minute walk away with a small Coop market

Beautiful, well designed & laid out. Peaceful setting. Great town. Brilliant hostess. Well equipped.
Roadside location. Next to noisy friday night Karaoke. Needs Mosquito netting on all windows if you suffer from bad reactions to bites.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
