Peacefully situated at the end of a private access track, just a couple of kilometers or so from the delightful Chianti town of Lucolena, Busecchio offers an enviable degree of seclusion and the luxury of its own private swimming pool.
This old Tuscan stone built farm cottage has been converted into a comfortable family home, retaining its down-to-earth country charm and is perfect for relaxing in a private and restful atmosphere.

The rear of the cottage opens out onto a large terrace with beautiful views across the Tuscan countryside dotted with ancient hilltop towns full with delights to explore and discover.

The terrace is on two levels, the upper terrace is furnished with a dining table and chairs conveniently by the kitchen, while the lower terrace is usually reserved for those who love to sit and admire the open views.
The cottage has two floors connected by outside stairs; the first floor has a reception room with a balcony, which enjoys the morning sun, a lavatory, and two twin bedrooms with open view windows. There is a well-fitted bathroom including a bathtub and shower.
From the main entrance there is a reception room that leads down three steps into the dining area, the glass patio doors open onto the terrace, the ample fully fitted kitchen which includes a fridge/freezer, gas hobs, oven and dishwasher is to the right and has a pantry with a second fridge and washing machine.
From the dining area down three steps there is the comfortable living room, which also opens with double doors onto the terrace, this cozy space has a wood burning stove, which is fully operational. NOTE 1: The villa accommodates strictly upto 6 people - a 7th person of any age can not be included in the reservation. NOTE 2: There is no central heating.
The sleeping quarters on the ground floor are accessed from the reception room; there is a small double bedroom with access to the gardens and a bathroom including a bathtub with shower.
On request all rooms can be made into doubles or twins.
A path leads down to the private pool, which is set in the gardens below the house surrounded by olive trees. The pool is circular and there is poolside furniture offering a tranquil corner to sit in the warm Tuscan sunshine.

The large terrace is perfect for outdoor meals in the absolute peace and tranquility of the surrounding countryside.

Comfortably furnished this is a wonderfully secluded getaway from everyday stress.
No pets allowed

Pros This is an idyllic villa in a beautiful but very remote location.Tuscany at its best, wonderful views, super terraces to relax on and enjoy the delicious local fresh produce.Amazing wild life-lizards,wild boar, squirrels and every type of bug. Great walking and proximity to many medieval villages.Well equipped kitchen, gorgeous open plan dining and sitting area-,double doors everywhere opening onto the terraces. We loved the pool and wooden sun loungers.Kitchen has been modernized since photo.Lavender, roses and jasmine around the house very fragrant.A very special place we loved it!
Cons Great for us, however difficult to find initially and up the most steep and rough lane (about 0.5mile)-glad we had a hired car! This was my adrenalin rush every day up and down although we did get used to it. Possibly not ideal for young children or older folk as the walk up and down to the pool was also quite steep. No Shop or restaurant for several miles.A car is essential with this property
Local attractions We liked exploring Radda and Greve.

Pros Perfekte Kücheneinrichtung (sämtliche Geräte und ausreichend Geschirr vorhanden). Gute Aufteilung des Hauses (absolute Privatsphäre im 1. Stock). Wunderbare Zimmer und sehr schöne Badezimmer. Schöne Terrassen mit herrlichem Ausblick. Absolut ruhig gelegen.

Pros Location remote, villa very well appointed, you can tell that it has been loved over the years by the owners. Amazing pool, everything you need to hand. Sitting outside in the evening with a wonderful view of the valley below. Even better than on the photos!
Cons There are some rugged steps down to the pool, which would be difficult for people with mobility issues. The monster flies around the pool are vicious and almost enough to put us off returning due to the size of the bite and irritation afterwards. The owners do give good advice about how to avoid, which is worth heeding.
Local attractions Nearby Radda very nice - amenities, traditional Chianti town. Florence only an hour away.

Stay: September 2013
Pros It was very secluded and peaceful. With outstanding views. We stayed with our grown up children and all had plenty of space for our own independence. We cooked some lovely meals and really relaxed. It was perfect.
Cons Because of the position high in the hills the September temperature felt cool as it was several degrees cooler than in the towns lower down. It may have been better to go earlier in the season.
Local attractions It was fairly close to Siena and Florence which were both beautiful but it was very quiet in the immediate locality.

Cons Er viel niets tegen.

Dichtbijzijnste winkel is 25 minuten rijden
Local attractions Verschillende prachtige steden bezocht: Pisa, Siena, Lucca, Firenze, San Gimignano en uiteraard de schitterende natuur

What were the highlights of your holiday? Going to the local tiny village (Lucolena) on a Friday night and having very simple delicious pizza in the only restuarant then playing with the children in the local playground along with all the other children in the village. This was exactly what they wanted to do and fitted in well with our needs for a relaxing evening out. We also loved the evenings on our two terraces - we lit mosquito coils and watched the sunset over the valley. It was blissful and completely quiet (except for cicadas and faltering bird calls). We loved the winding road to the property.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation?    The house was splendid. Very much nicer that we had expected. We loved our time there. Somehow it combined all the essential features necessary for the location (cooling breezes, thick walls to ward off the worst of the midday heat, plentiful cross ventilation, ceiling fans, etc. ) with simple luxuries like a well equipped kitchen and generous bathrooms. The garden was gorgeous - fragrant and vast and beautiful.

Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? We did not expect the amount of horseflies around the pool - but quickly made a plan around them (mosquito coils and insect repellent candles). We were constantly aware that burning anything in the great dry heat was risky - but took extreme care to ensure that everything was safe. This way we managed to do all the poolside time with the children we had planned.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service?
