Peacefully situated at the end of a private access track, just a couple of kilometers or so from the delightful Chianti town of Lucolena, Busecchio offers an enviable degree of seclusion and the luxury of its own private swimming pool.
This old Tuscan stone built farm cottage has been converted into a comfortable family home, retaining its down-to-earth country charm and is perfect for relaxing in a private and restful atmosphere.

The rear of the cottage opens out onto a large terrace with beautiful views across the Tuscan countryside dotted with ancient hilltop towns full with delights to explore and discover.

The terrace is on two levels, the upper terrace is furnished with a dining table and chairs conveniently by the kitchen, while the lower terrace is usually reserved for those who love to sit and admire the open views.
The cottage has two floors connected by outside stairs; the first floor has a reception room with a balcony, which enjoys the morning sun, a lavatory, and two twin bedrooms with open view windows. There is a well-fitted bathroom including a bathtub and shower.
From the main entrance there is a reception room that leads down three steps into the dining area, the glass patio doors open onto the terrace, the ample fully fitted kitchen which includes a fridge/freezer, gas hobs, oven and dishwasher is to the right and has a pantry with a second fridge and washing machine.
From the dining area down three steps there is the comfortable living room, which also opens with double doors onto the terrace, this cozy space has a wood burning stove, which is fully operational. NOTE 1: The villa accommodates strictly upto 6 people - a 7th person of any age can not be included in the reservation. NOTE 2: There is no central heating.
The sleeping quarters on the ground floor are accessed from the reception room; there is a small double bedroom with access to the gardens and a bathroom including a bathtub with shower.
On request all rooms can be made into doubles or twins.
A path leads down to the private pool, which is set in the gardens below the house surrounded by olive trees. The pool is circular and there is poolside furniture offering a tranquil corner to sit in the warm Tuscan sunshine.

The large terrace is perfect for outdoor meals in the absolute peace and tranquility of the surrounding countryside.

Comfortably furnished this is a wonderfully secluded getaway from everyday stress.

Everything went very smoothly, with no problems finding the house, no difficulties on the track and a prompt welcome from the caretaker. We were delighted with the house and its setting, especially the privacy (we saw nobody all week, apart from the caretaker on arrival and departure!), the view and the surroundings. The kitchen was very fully equipped and convenient. We loved the pool which we could enjoy in complete solitude (apart from a resident frog) and were quite happy to do the basic maintenance (though it was perfectly clean on our arrival). It is a house that would suit clients like ourselves who enjoy the remoteness and privacy, though perhaps less so those who like immediate access to other facilities. We would have no hesitation in returning.
Local attractions The local walking is very good, both from the house and slightly further afield. We enjoyed revisiting Radda, Greve and Panzano after many years, and discovered the delights of Volpaia and its restaurant. The Chianti Classico festival in Greve was great fun and left us with a fully laden car on departure.

Can I just say what an absolutely fabulous Villa my Wife and I think this is. The location is exceptional, and the views spectacular. There is a sharp uphill bend on approach which can be tricky, but was do-able easily enough in our rental Car (Citroen Picasso). Many types of Wildlife here. We did see Wild Boar and Deer at the property (outside the fence). Yes, there are some strange bugs to UK dwellers, but nothing at all which bothered us during our stay - day and night. Lovely Pool, which was a complete novelty to have all to ourselves.
The Food, Wine and Beer in the area fabulous, as I would have expected in this region. If you want to do a shop, the large Co-op at Figline is easy to get to and stocks just about anything you would need. All in all, a fabulous experience. No doubt that we would book again with To Tuscany
Local attractions Good Restaurants around the Piazza's in nearby Greve and also in Figline. Trip to Florence well worth it. I would advise parking the Car at Figline, and geting the Train in and out. They are regular and punctual. I think an Adult return ticket was in the region of 10 Euro's. Siena is around an hour and 20 mins drive, and also well worth a visit

To Tuscany have recently visited Casetta Busecchio and are delighted to report that the owner has completely decorated throughout the inside and outside of the house. The access road is quite a narrow dirt track but with a very good surface. It is not at all rocky and does not require a high clearance vehicle. The path down to the pool is a perfectly fine combination of grassy slopes and rock steps. This is in keeping with the charm of the garden which is a very well kept rustic cottage garden. There is a great wood stove with a shed full of wood, open and free for guests to use.

Unfortunately, the hot Tuscan sun can attract many mosquitoes and insects. There was an extraordinary outbreak of horseflies due to the very high temperatures this year.

Thank you for your comments. Care is needed on the bend of the road but it is passable for vehicles including trucks and ambulances etc...As in the description, Approach road - 1km adequate unpaved road - includes steep tar bend. The owner apologises that the cleanliness was not to standard. This has been reported to the caretaker and due care will be taken in future. The issues with ants and the shutters will also be checked carefully. The WIFI issue has also been reported to the local provider.

The views are awesome, the seclusion and tranquility wonderful. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The gardens are very pretty The local walks (suggestions in the book in the house) are great.
My elderly mother was frightened by the very long, steep and uneven approach to the property. We were pleased we had hired a car that could cope with it (only just with 5 plus luggage inside). We were cold in the evenings and would have liked there to be firewood available for use in the wood burner.
Local attractions Figline for Co-op. Greve for lunch. San Gimignano for day trip Train from Figline for day trip to Florence.

It was a joy to return to this house again with a new group of friends. We love the peace and seclusion of the house at the end of the road and our second visit was as wonderful as the first. We enjoyed days by the pool, our daily espresso at the Alimentari in Lucolena (and discovering that it is 90 years old), and especially cooking local produce in the well-equipped kitchen and dining every night on the terrace with THAT view across the valley.
Local attractions The Alimentari in Lucolena is great for basic supplies and a daily espresso.

This is an idyllic villa in a beautiful but very remote location.Tuscany at its best, wonderful views, super terraces to relax on and enjoy the delicious local fresh produce.Amazing wild life-lizards,wild boar, squirrels and every type of bug. Great walking and proximity to many medieval villages.Well equipped kitchen, gorgeous open plan dining and sitting area-,double doors everywhere opening onto the terraces. We loved the pool and wooden sun loungers.Kitchen has been modernized since photo.Lavender, roses and jasmine around the house very fragrant.A very special place we loved it!
Great for us, however difficult to find initially and up the most steep and rough lane (about 0.5mile)-glad we had a hired car! This was my adrenalin rush every day up and down although we did get used to it. Possibly not ideal for young children or older folk as the walk up and down to the pool was also quite steep.
No Shop or restaurant for several miles.A car is essential with this property
Local attractions We liked exploring Radda and Greve.

Perfekte Kücheneinrichtung (sämtliche Geräte und ausreichend Geschirr vorhanden). Gute Aufteilung des Hauses (absolute Privatsphäre im 1. Stock). Wunderbare Zimmer und sehr schöne Badezimmer. Schöne Terrassen mit herrlichem Ausblick. Absolut ruhig gelegen.
