Pros We stayed in Pesci on this occasion, having previously stayed in Taglialegna a few years previously. Very happy to find that little has changed at Montefiorile - it's still as wonderfully quiet, peaceful and relaxing as it was before. Pesci was a lovely villa with a quite breathtaking view from the extended terrace over the vineyards and across to Villa Dievole and Vagliagli in the distance. The villa was very well equipped with everything that could possibly be needed, including a washing machine, dishwasher, outdoor grill - and a very welcome mosquito net over the bedroom window! There's also plenty of storage in both the bedroom and kitchen. The pool is still a nice place to spend time with plenty of sun or shade. It's also a lovely place to go for a run in the evening with views over the vineyards, olive groves and over to Siena - though the hill from the borgo itself is a bit of a slog whether you're on foot or in a car! The free wi-fi in the villa was also a nice added bonus. Easy check-in and out, and a stress-free holiday. Recommended.
Local attractions We were very happy to be able to go to the wine tasting at Casanuova di Ama again, which is a great way to spend an afternoon and get some superb wine and oil to take home. Also our holiday wouldn't be complete without a visit to La Grotta della Rana trattoria in San Sano.

Pros We spent a beautiful/peaceful/relaxing etc. week at Pesci mid May 2014. The villa was absolutely beautiful, comfortable and a perfect size for the two of us.

The terrace to the back of the property offered an amazing view of the surrounding vineyards and is a lovely spot for sitting and basking.

Patrizio in the Montefiorile office was very helpful and gave us a warm welcome.

The weather was unseasonably cold and wet. However the heating is governed by a temperature control panel in the main living room, the owner is sorry that this was not explained well enough to the client. The shower head has been renewed.

Pros Fabulous views, comfortable bed, roomy for two for a weekly stay
Cons Difficult access to our apartment, especially if an older couple. Lots of steps and gravel for lugging heavy suitcases. Access road got very muddy when it rained so difficult to turn around and drive on. Isolated--need to stock up before arriving because small hamlet of Lecchi is a 2 mile hilly walk--definitely need a car. Would recommend Radda in Chianti or Castellina in Chianti if staying more than a few days.
Local attractions Very friendly market and Cantina in hamlet of Lecchi. Walking the roads to Castello del Amo. We loved Radda in Chianti and Castellina in Chianti for trattorias & shops.

Toll ausgestattete und liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung, schöner Poolbereich - was will man mehr?

Local attractions Radda in Chianti: koffie drinken - supermarkt - leuke winkeltjes.

Ons favoriete dorp was Gaiole in Chianti.

Water was erg troebel. Slechte wifi verbinding.
Local attractions Favourite steden: Siena en San Gimignano Goede pizzeria: Pie in Radda Gezellig restaurantje: Malborghetto in Lecchi Leuke marktje op zondagochtend in Panzano, aanrader!

Very friendly reception and Sabina was most welcoming. Very clean and sweet. We will definately be returning!
Cons It rained on 2 days!
Local attractions The restaurant in Lecchi has to be visited...wonderful food and charming people. Sienna at night is lovely and well worth a trip. We really enjoyed sitting on our decking watching fire flies at night.Heaven.

Pros The location of the villa was excellent. You really felt as though it was just you as you are not overlooked at all. The balcony and the views were incredible.

The villa itself had absolutley everything you could need. There were comfy sofas, plently of books. The kitchen was well equipped and there was ample storage space in the bedroom - a home from home.
Cons As other clients have mentioned, the gravel path on the first and last day is a challenge with the suitcases! We attmepted to walk to Lecchi but we found the way was blocked so we were a little disappointed to have to drive everywhere. Even if the way hadn't been blocked, it is a very hilly and quite long walk in the heat (especially for pregnant folks such as I!). Bear this is mind if you are looking for a place with restaurants etc within walking distance.
Local attractions We explored Tuscany thoroughly! My favourite place of all was San Gimignano. Don't be put off by the Sat Nav predictions of times and distances - we found that most places were no more than an hour's drive away. We enjoyed Florence so much that we went twice - it was only 50 minutes away. Siena is the nearest - just 30 minutes. We also ate out in Radda a couple of times at the very homely Pizza Pie and the more upmarket Relais (?). All very lovely.

Pros The fabulous decking area with views across the chianti vineyards was a fantastic addition to the property. The sofas were particularly comfortable and the information book (in all sorts of languages) was full of useful tips of things to do.
Cons There was nowhere to put any toiletries in the shower itself - an easy fix with one of those hanging toiletry caddies.
Local attractions Marlborghetto restaurant in nearby Lecchi is as good as ever with Simone so welcoming. We had a cookery lesson at Toscana Mia just a few minutes drive away (brilliant for us and our 5 year old) and enjoyed our wine-tasting tour to Daniela at Casanuova di Ama (organised locally at Montefiorile). We had an enjoyable day out at Pinocchio park, Volterra and the castle at Montalcino but our favourite day was taking a train from Montevarchi station to Florence and then seeing the sights on a hop-on-hop-off guided tour bus which we booked before leaving the UK.

Pros Being at Pesci at Montefiorile was like being at 'home'! Everything we needed was right there...we nestled into our cottage, had outside beautiful herbs, which I snipped and cooked with, and even a budding vegetable garden! Had the weather been better (and, that's something Mother Nature controlled!), this experience would have been even more like a dream!
Cons A better question is 'what didn't we like'??? Nothing! I suppose the only issue was the rain and some of the pot holes in the road...it would have been nice to have had parking a tad bit closer, but not a major issue!
Local attractions We explored so many towns...our favorite was Radda...we loved a small restaurant in Lucarelli...our routine was to explore the area in the day, find a wonderful restaurant and have a big late lunch complete with wine, then return to our cottage and cook dinner in...from the serving plates to the kitchen, it was perfect...and, believe me, I know...I'm a foodie who cooks all the time, and I write a food blog! I even posted several of my creations made right there in the Pesci kitchen!

Pros Lazy evenings sitting on the verandah watching the sun go down over a stunning view with a good glass of wine. A wonderfully peaceful location to get away and relax.
Cons Very trivial but the distance to car park and rubbish bins was annoying when having to carry suitcases or empty chianti bottles.
Local attractions We loved walking around Radda in Chianti which had excellent shopping for such a small town and we would definitely recommend taking advantage of the chefs visit, a pleasure meeting Andrea and an excellent 4 course dinner and good value for money.

Pros We liked the raised verandah - the views are spectacular, we liked the fact that it gets the sun all day. We liked the general ambience of the place...a wonderful place to chill.
Cons We didn't particularly like the microwave (took a while to heat things up) and would have preferred an oven (to cook pizza!) but not a major problem at all.
Local attractions We only tried the restaurant at San Sano, after reading the write up in the villa brochure, sadly we were a little disappointed. Nothing specific but it just wasn't particularly different or better. Enjoyed walking round Radda in Chianti and walking to San Sano.

What were the highlights of your stay?    Ohhh sooo many. Loved all the nearby towns, the view of the the vineyard from our terrace.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation?    Very clean and exactly what the pictures and description showed us.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? We had some ants in our place but went out and bought some spray, nothing major. We have them sometimes at home too....it didn't reflect anything negative on the place.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? It would be great if you oculd have the option of buying sample sized bottles (250ml's) of laundry detergent, dish washer soap, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. To go and but those items in the grocery store is a waste because you have to get such a large bottles of everythnig that you don't end up using them and more than likely they are thrown out.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Motoring through Chianti.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    The villa was clean and satisfying. Some comments include no soap/shampoo holder in the shower recess which was an inconvenience.

Our strongest complaint was carrying our heavy luggage from the car park to the villa Pesci R which was situated some 100 metres away and accessed by a soft gravel path making extreme hard work of transporting the luggage on a trolley. It resembled trudging through quicksand. We would advocate this path to be sealed with hard paving.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? Weather during our stay was rainy and cold for this time in May.
Do you have any other comments? The internet was welcomed.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Visits to Siena and Florence.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    Good. Clean and well managed property & grounds.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? The distance to the very small local village was greater than we would have liked, and this village was basically just a shop.
Do you have any other comments?

What were the highlights of your holiday? We've just returned from Italy, where we stayed with you for a week between the 6th and 13th June, in your Pesci accomodation. We'd just like to say that we found the whole experience to be excellent, from the lovely villa to the beautiful gardens it sits in. We particularly enjoyed the wine tasting trip on the Wednesday.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    The accomodation was fantastic, and well equipped. Only issue was, whilst the Pesci garden is lovely, there were some quite tall trees/bushes to the left of the terrace, which didn't offer any more privacy, but did cut off a lot of the view as well.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? only the temperature of the pool! But it did warm up towards the end of the week.
Do you have any other comments? With the relative distance to Radda and Lecchi, it may be a good idea to install a vending machine in the information centre, I'm sure enough people would use it for soft drinks/water that it would be worthwhile having it. I know there were several times when we ran out of soft drinks and had to drive into the nearest town to get some more.
The wine tasting afternoon seemed to be a huge success, and I thought maybe it could be run on the Monday or Tuesday instead of the Wednesday, purely because it gives all the guests a great chance to meet each other.

It might be useful to have some more information about where you are allowed to go within the hamlet. It wasn't until the last day or two that we discovered the pool over by the tennis courts, and even then we weren't sure if we were allowed to use either, as they weren't mentioned anywhere.
Lastly, the 'net' for our pool didn't always seem to be there to scoop out all the bugs and leaves that kept falling into the pool, which did make it slightly unpleasant to swim around in.
