Inside, this two-bedroom villa revels in its heritage, with warm terracotta-tiled floors, wood-beamed ceilings and patches of exposed stone. Yet it’s also a very comfortable space, with a big corner sofa, large dining table and chairs, and a beautiful hearth that can be lit on cooler evenings. Upstairs, deep, cosy beds will be a welcoming sight after a hard day gadding about the area. Outside, the private pool is an ideal spot for unwinding and cooling off. But when you are ready to venture out, the historic hilltop village of Torniella is close by, and, a little further is the larger town of Roccastrada, with more options for mingling with the locals.
