After driving up the steep and winding road to the villa, we were rewarded with amazing views over the hills, hilltop monastery & the town below. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with olive, orange & lemon trees.
We carefully chose this villa to accommodate the 3 generations of our family, including 2 young children and a baby. We were not disappointed! The villa layout was perfect, allowing each family enough privacy when needed, but a large kitchen & fabulous outdoor eating area for us to congregate together. The villa was spotlessly clean, plenty of kitchen equipment, and A/C available when needed. The outdoor kitchen was excellent for cooking/bbq and was used by the chef who came to cook a special meal for us.
The highlight of the holiday was the pool, which is fully fenced and safe, the water was warm, and the toilet/ changing room was ideal for the children. There is also shade under the trees for cooling off.
We must mention the owner Guiliano, who was so welcoming and extremely helpful, he even provided a buffet meal on our arrival, as well as treating us to his own delicious olive oil, and home-grown courgettes.

As the weather was hot (34C), we limited our trips out, but did visit Lucca, Pisa, and pretty villages of Montecarlo and Montecatini Alto. We also made several visits to our favourite supermarket, Esselunga, easy parking and beautifully air conditioned!

Das Haus oben auf dem Berg bietet einen fantastischen Ausblick auf die Umgebung. Mit der schönste Platz zum gemeinsam Essen. Lesen und Genießen, den man sich nur vorstellen kann. Die Hauseigentümer wohnen zwar nebenan, lassen einen aber in Ruhe. Giuliano, der Gastgeber, ist sehr bemüht, den Aufenthalt so perfekt wie möglich zu machen. Ein wunderbares Anwesen, in dem wir mit den besten Urlaub hatten! Danke.

Großes eingezäuntes Grundstück, mit Hund ideal.
Das Pool Wasser ist sehr kalt. Baden war dadurch nur eingeschränkt möglich. Beheizter Pool ist prospektiert ?!
Die installierten Überwachungskameras auf dem Grundstück sind doch sehr störend.
Der Hauseigentümer ist sehr bemüht, daß es seinen Gästen an nichts fehlt. Auch hat er viele Empfehlungen für nahe Ausflüge und Toskanische Restaurants.

Ausflüge nach Pisa, Monntecatini, Lucca, Wengüter in der Gegend von Montecarlo, Florenz, Besichtigung einer Olivenölmühle ,oder auch an das Meer mit schönem Sandstrand. Die Orte sind alle innerhalb von maximal einer Autostunde entfernt.

We had a fantastic week. First impressions make a difference and the villa owner, Giuliano drove to meet us on the road at the foot of the hills and showed us the nearest and best supermarket where we got a few things before driving up to the villa. We then felt part of the Italian family as the villa is remote at the top of a winding road (easily driveable though). The views are spectacular and the space between the pool area and main villa is a short walk through olive trees. This allowed 9 adults space to be altogether or to have a Pool afternoon or just read on the terrace at the house itself. My daughter’s boyfriend was secretly proposing to her during the trip and To-Tuscany and Guiliano organised flowers, balloons and we had Pizza oven company come in and cook traditional pizzas. They were also a family business and it made the whole evening special. We had a coeliac in our group and there were no issues getting Gluten Free meals (or food in the supermarket) and the caterers were also used to accommodating this. It all worked. The Villa is sizeable and the rooms are good. We stayed in mid June so did not need to use the Aircon too much but it is functional throughout the villa. There are also two full kitchens at this villa which meant there was plenty of room for cooking for 10 and for storing, Ice and cold drinks. We had no issues during our stay but when we couldn’t get the outside kitchen gas hob to work, it was a quick WhatsApp message to Giuliano and it was fixed in seconds. We felt this was our home within minutes of arriving and will definitely visit again.

We took a trip down to Lucca (25 mins drive) and spent a fantastic afternoon in the walled city which was far quieter than Florence which we also visited later in the week. We took the train to Florence and the station with direct trains (€12 return) is 10 mins away at the foot of the hill with free parking so really simple (also tickets were booked on the Trainline App so simple). The Miglia 1000 classic car race coincidentally was passing through so we drove to the cost town of Villareggio, just North of Pisa. This was a beach promenade and harbour full of Italian restaurants which was a surprising bonus as we watch 500 cars cruise past. The nearest town is Montecatini Terme. We went for lunch in the main square which has several restaurants and was good for a cloudy day. There is a funicular to the Thermal baths in Montecatine but we did not get a chance to visit this time. We did not eat out as much as originally planned as the view from the Villa meant we were happy to eat in and watch the sun go down over the spectacular Tuscan horizon.

Casale di Campioni is a beautiful villa in a bucolic location. The vista is stunning from 365 degrees. The house is well-equipped with comfortable beds, furniture, and modern kitchen and bathroom features. It was a little cool for swimming but we did enjoy laying in the beach chairs at the pool! We also enjoyed sitting in the outdoor kitchen table and simply enjoying the view. Giuliano was a wonderful host. We were welcomed and felt cared for the entire visit. A special place indeed!

Casale di Campioni is an easy launching point to many places in Tuscany. It's 1-2 hours from nearly anywhere you want to visit in Tuscany - Florence, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, even Cinque Terre. Returning to your cozy villa with its magical view makes for a great day.

Die Anfahrt zum Haus ist steil und kurvig, aber mit jedem Auto gut zu schaffen. Die Anlage des Hauses ist großzügig und überall sehr gepflegt. Die Ausstattung ist umfangreich, insbesondere das Terrassengebäude verfügt über eine zweite komplette Essküche. Auch durch die zwei separaten Wohnzimmer hat man hohe Flexibilität und individuelle Freiräume. Die Eigentümerfamilie kümmert sich persönlich.

Die größte Attraktion ist das Haus an sich, vor allem das Terrassengebäude, wo man bei spektakulärem Blick die ganze Zeit verbringen könnte. Durch die Hanglage weht immer ein wenig Wind, was bei heißem Wetter besonders schön ist. Das schöne Lucca ist gut auch für einen halben Tag zu erreichen. Florenz und Siena zu besuchen, bedeutet schon einen Tagesausflug.
