This charming villa was originally a barn with dovecote, which has been restored and converted into a comfortable three bedroom home by the owners. It is set in its own large private grounds with far reaching views over the surrounding Tuscan countryside, yet is only a short walk into the centre of the popular village of San Sano.

Situated to the rear of the property on a lower terrace is the large swimming pool. It has a paved surround furnished with sun loungers, parasol, tables and chairs. Relaxing by the pool you have a fantastic view over the beautiful Tuscan countryside and the garden.

The main entrance is via the covered terrace which leads into the hallway. To the right stairs lead up to the first floor, to the left is a cosy seating area.

An archway opens into the lounge dining area which has the traditional wooden dining table and chairs for six people.  To the left are some stairs leading down to the living room which has large windows on the three external walls giving the room a bright feel with great views.

From the dining area a short corridor takes you to the two ground floor main bedrooms and bathrooms. The bedrooms to the right has a double bed with wardrobe and a bathroom with shower opposite, the bedroom to the left is a similar size but has a larger bathroom with shower.
The country style kitchen is off the lounge/dining area and has an oven with gas hobs, fridge/freezer and microwave. A further door from the kitchen opens onto a terrace furnished with table and chairs, from here you have views over the gardens and the surrounding countryside. There are steps down into the garden, at the bottom of which is a brick built barbeque and pizza oven.

The first floor small bedroom (pink bedroom) has twin beds and a wardrobe, there is a bathroom located opposite the bedroom which has a shower, basin and WC. All bedrooms have free standing fans. Please note the stairs to the first floor are quite steep and would not be suitable for young children.

Outside the large fenced garden wraps itself around the property and is completely private with an olive grove and a small vineyard as well as open grassed areas with brightly planted terracotta urns dotted around. The medieval village of San Sano is only a short stroll away and here there is a restaurant, a small grocery store and a church.

Set in large private grounds, yet only a short stroll into the centre of the village of San Sano.

The twin beds can be converted into a double if requested when booking.
The large fenced garden wraps itself around the property and is completely private

Internet WI-FI available in the villa for free. Please bring your own laptop.

Pool towels available at 2 Euros each.

Great place, friendly service. The pool is huge, and has a nice undercover outside area.
Local attractions The one restaurant in San Sano was very good, and the staff were very friendly. Otherwise there was a great place in Lecce.

Had a wonderful stay at Casa Virginia, the villa was perfect for us. The villa is in a beautiful location and well laid out. The views from the villa are stunning. The pool area is fantastic and we enjoyed dining outside. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our time here and were sad to leave!
Local attractions Ristorante Malborghetto in Lechi in Chianti (short drive away) had lovely food and a great atmosphere. We enjoyed a private wine tasting experience at Rocca di Castagnoli, which we found by chance and was reasonably priced. We booked a private chef (Andrea) who came to the villa and cooked us an amazing meal for a birthday celebration which was a wonderful experience.

OWNER COMMENT: Thank you for your comments. The windows of the house all have mosquito nets. Finding a wild animal like a gecko in a country house is of course normal. A slot in the head of the bed wall is simply a normal settlement of the house and took place after a refurbishment two years ago.

This was an amazing villa with great scenery and pool. We were welcomed warmly, and the hosts left wine and cake. Nice touch. The location was great and it was very quiet which we wanted. The beds were comfy and the bathroom/ kitchen clean. The terrace by the house was perfect for long lunches and an evening glass of wine (sunset was perfect over the vineyard).
Local attractions San Sano village is simply beautiful. We also went to Siena and our host recommended a nice pizza place near the Duomo. Also went to Florence and got the tram in from the outskirts. That was recommended too. Good advice.

Spent a week at Casa Virginia in August with our two daughters aged 19 and 18. Everything about the villa exceeded expectations. The gardens are huge with loads of seating and lovely flowers. Villa very big, beautifully presented, big kitchen with everything you could possibly need, all three showers very powerful. For us the best thing by far was the swimming pool, went in it every day. Great views everywhere and quiet location. Massimo the owner was charming and his wife made us a delicious cake.
Local attractions San Gimignano was delightful with its piazzas and towers. Climbed the main tower and got some great views.

VILLA A CONSEILLER!

- I'Galletto Briaco, Gaiole in Chianti : plats régionaux délicieux, copieux, prix corrects, patron parfois stressé mais sympathique.

Amazingly situated villa with beautiful views. Nice terraces, olive trees. Great swimming pool. Typical tuscan house.
Very polite and helpful owners.
Especially we would like to thank Elena for delicious cake she baked for us.
The villa is perfectly situated for wine lovers. 4 km to Castello di Brolio, 2 to Catello di Ama - both great vineyards.
Local attractions I recommend a restaurant in Lecchi "Ristorante Malborghetto" . Everything there was delicious and tasty. Starting from antipasti ( bruschetta with fish and another one with truffles and pecorino), trough pasta, soups (courgette with shrimps - my 9 years old son licked the plate - it was so delicious), and meat - I ate tagliata with truffles, my husband bistacca fiorentina. Fully recommend.

The hosts, Elena and Massimo, gave us the most fabulous welcome. They and their family were friendly and helpful and cooked us the most delicious Tuscan meal one evening which was a real highlight of our holiday.
The pool was another highlight, a great size and with wonderful views and the garden added to the atmosphere.
The mosquitos around the pool from late afternoon were a real pest! Not sure if anything can be done but we used mossie repellant, citronella candles etc and still got bitten.
The kitchen is very small but we didn't find it a problem - it has everything you need.
The nearest big supermarket is quite a distance.
Local attractions The restaurant in the village was lovely. We also enjoyed wine tasting at Brolio Castle. We had a couple of day trips to Siena which was stunning and also spent a day in Florence, again beautiful. We also managed a day trip to Pisa which was gorgeous but a very long day! We ate out several times and had some wonderful food, I can't remember the names of the restaurants sadly. Elena & Massiomo's Tuscan feast was incredible, we were all hugely impressed.

The pool was wonderfull and big and the lokation very Nice. Peacefully and surrended of olive trees. For us it did not matter that the kitchen is very small.
