Outside, it has a huge lawned garden, prettily planted with trees and shrubs, and set with a luxurious private pool. Kids will love to romp and splash about here under the watchful eyes of adults relaxing on sunloungers or on the covered terrace, where an inviting swing seat beckons.

Inside, that sense of space continues in this uncluttered yet cosy villa, lovingly restored to glory in its stone and brick walls, high beamed ceilings and terracotta tiles. The double lounge is large enough to hold three sofas, and the kitchen has acres of space to prepare and taste the delicious booty you won’t be able to resist filling your basket with at the local market. A hall keeps the two ground-floor bedrooms a tranquil distance from the living areas, both of which have large glass doors that let the light flood in and guests to step out into the garden. But the occupants of the two bedrooms upstairs shouldn’t be too jealous, they have their own en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning all to themselves. There are ceiling fans in all bedrooms and in the lounge.
