This traditionally built stone villa sits on a hillside overlooking the valley below. The property is perfect for families wishing to holiday together, yet still retain some independence. Ideally located only 1km from a small village where there is a local grocery store and 15km from the town of Radda in Chianti with its supermarket and wide range of shops and restaurants.

Tucked away to one side at the rear of the property, is the single Roman ended pool. Screened on two sides by trees and hills, and surrounded by attractively planted flower beds, this private area has breath taking views over the Tuscan countryside.
Outside the property is bordered on two sides by trees and hills, the owners have planted terraced flower beds with Mediterranean shrubs and herbs. The grassed terrace which runs the full length of the rear of the property to the pool area is furnished with table and chairs, and is a wonderful spot for alfresco dining. Sitting on the terraced area or by the pool you have the most spectacular far reaching views over olive groves and vineyards.

Villa Il Solatio is built into the hillside and consists of two separate self contained apartments. The entrance to the first floor apartment is level with the driveway. The ground floor apartment is reached via a flight of steps at the side of the house; alternatively there is also a wide slope down to the lower level.

Inside, both apartments have terracotta tiled floors and the typical Tuscan tiled and beamed ceilings throughout.  The entrance to the first floor apartment opens into the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner, a short flight of six steps lead down into this airy room.

Along the left hand wall is a fitted kitchenette with electric oven, gas hobs, dishwasher and fridge freezer. In the centre of the room is a wooden dining table and chairs, and on the opposite side of the room is a comfortable ‘L’ shaped sofa and TV with DVD player.

The two double bedrooms are located, one either side off of this room. Both bedrooms have antique style double beds, wooden wardrobes and matching side tables. In addition, bedroom one also has a writing desk with chair as well as an armchair and windows overlooking both the front and back of the property.

Bedroom two has windows all along one wall which overlook the rear of the property. There is also a TV located in this room.  Adjacent to each of the bedrooms is a bathroom with shower and heated towel rail.

The ground floor apartment has double doors which open into the lounge/diner. To the left is a doorway through to the small, but well equipped kitchen which has an electric oven, gas hobs, dishwasher and fridge, there is also a door leading directly onto the grassed terrace.

The lounge is comfortably furnished with two sofas a TV and DVD player; there is a traditional wooden dining table with chairs and matching cupboards near to the kitchen.  The main feature of the room is a lovely brick built open fireplace.

As with the upstairs apartment, the two bedrooms are located one, either side of the lounge/diner. Both bedrooms again, have antique style beds; bedroom one has double doors opening out onto the grassed terrace.

Bedroom two has high windows along two sides of the room. Next door to each of the bedrooms is a private bathroom with shower and heated towel rail.

The villa is provided with under floor heating.

The property is perfect for families wishing to holiday together, yet still retain some independence.

Spędziliśmy urlop w IL Solatio w okresie od 31 07 do 13 08 2016. Dom położony w przepięknej cichej malej wiosce z dala od ludzi ! Całkowita prywatność! Pogoda świetna 29 do 35 "C-my akurat tak lubimy! Niebo bez chmurne ! Ogromny czysty zadbany basen,który w tej temp. jest nieodzowny!!! Właściciele pomocni, uczynni i bardo dyskretnie dbali i czystość ogrodu i podlewanie posesji. Bylo parę usterek w domu, ale myślę ze właściciele to wymienia i naprawia !! Trzeba sie liczyć z dość dużą ilością komarów,pszczół i innych małych gryzoni. Mimo wszystko polecam ten dom ,bo warto było! Wypoczęliśmy w komforcie na 8 punktów z możliwych 10!!!
Local attractions Malo restauracji w pobliżu,ale mając auto można zwiedzając natrafić na małe tawerny z dobrym jedzeniem!

Thank you for your review. There are more insects during the hotter months due to the weather conditions in the Tuscan countryside.

A beautiful spot on a hill, with an awesome panoramic view on the valley, with its vineyards and the ancient church of San Pancratio. For those loving their privacy, it is a real paradise, with comfortable housing and a large pool. The owners, who run a wine and olive oil farm, are very friendly and caring and at your disposal when necessary. It is however an isolated spot, with the necessity of having a car at your disposal.
Local attractions Very recommendable is a visit to Radda in Chianti, a small medieval town and a visit to the Badia di Contibuono, an anciet monastery and farm in Gaiole in Chianti with an excellent restaurant.

We spent a week at the villa "il solatio" and it was a great experience. The villa is a little bit far off from all the major cities (at least an hour to Firenze, Arezzo and Siena) but with a car it's not all that bad. The house itself is absolutely fantastic, it's really large and tidy and the swimmingpool is amazing.
The owners are very friendly and obliging. There's really only one thing we didn't like: there were a lot of wasps and bees around the pool, but there probably isn't too much the owners can do about it.

All in all we would definitely recommend "il solatio" and we would love to come back again.
Local attractions Arezzo is a really gorgeous city and certainly worth a visit!

Excellent location, great house + pool and other facilities and extremely nice owners. They gave us a tour of their wine cellar and we were able to taste and buy their home made wine, honey and olive oil, which were all very good. Alessandro also cooked steaks for us one evening which was an awesome and a very domestic experience. Highly recommended!!!

The villa, pool and surroundings are as wonderful as advertised - no unpleasant surprises. Minor problems were taken care of almost instantly by the kind and helpful caretaker couple.
There is nothing to dislike really. The last mile is rather rough on the car but we were warned.
Local attractions We rarely dine at the same restaurant twice on our holidays but the Papposileno in Cavriglia was the exception, good food and service and reasonably priced.

The house--a renovated barn--is beautifully arranged for a group of friends, as many as eight. Four very similar large bedrooms, each with a little hallway from the living room and each with its own bathroom. Two kitchens; we usually gathered in the downstairs one, which looks out onto a picnic table with glorious views of the Tuscan hills. Beautiful pool with its own wonderful view. Peaceful and full of birdsong: cuckoos in the day, owls at night. The owners have built a cantina for fermenting wine and storing honey, both of which--delicious--they sell inexpensively to guests.
Local attractions The elegant restaurant at the Badia di Coltibuono, the lively Papposileno in Cavriglia.
