La Piaggia, Altopascio - Lucca and Viareggio

We were a large family staying with 3 young children and the pool being separate from the villa was perfect, safe and secure. We loved the open space and access to the garden and woods which gave the grandchildren lots of space to explore. It was very family friendly.
The hospitality of Teresa and her family was second to none. They were extremely accommodating and responsive, and the food provided was delicious.
The villa is a typically Tuscan which we loved, however it is a little dated by modern standards. Soft furnishings such lampshades and curtains were in a little disrepair and the bathrooms are in need of modernatisation. This did not affect our enjoyment of our stay but would have added to the overall experience.
We would recommend this villa if you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and want to enjoy the Tuscan countryside and little local villages.

Monte Carlo was a lovely place to visit and within walking distance of the villa. The butchers and patisserie in Marginone are worth visiting for fresh meats and cakes. All within walking distance. We did a a trip to Viareggio and Pisa by train which was very easy from San Salvatore station, again the station is walking distance to the villa.

Teresa & Family had such a warm welcome to the Villa, Couldn't do enough to help and recommended some great places to eat. Their Aperitivo was the best we had whilst in Tuscany and the Olive oil was amazing!

A partir de la propriété, très bien située, nous avons rayonné aux alentours et découvert des charmants villages et des villes magnifiques : Vinci, Montecatini, Monte Carlo Lucca et Pise bien sûr.

Lucca, nous y sommes allés un dimanche et avons redécouvert cette ville, visitée 20 ans auparavant. Nous y sommes retournés en semaine et l'atmosphère y était différente puisque tous les magasins étaient ouverts. Monte Carlo et sa forteresse que nous avons visitée. Vinci et ses trois musées consacrés au génie inventif de Léonard et à ses célèbres peintures .

We zijn met heel veel gastvrijheid ontvangen. Het is een prachtig agriturismo met olijfbomen en wijngaard. Een echt familie bedrijf. Eigen wijn, olijfolie en limoncello. Heerlijk zwembad. De gastvrouw heeft 2 avonden voor ons gekookt. Echt een aanrader. Zeer uitgebreid en lekker. Het sanitair is wat verouderd. Wel heerlijk ruime slaapkamers en een hele authentieke sfeer. Wij hebben genoten.

Lucca en Florence zijn goed bereikbaar en leuk om te bezoeken.

Magnifique accueil de Teresa avec ses produits locaux. Situation idyllique au milieu d'oliviers et vignes, Calme, piscine. Villa typique avec l'impression d'un retour en arrière dans le temps.

Visites à Pise et Florence pas si éloignés. La Loggia bar-spaghetteria avec des bières artisanales. Ristorante Fattoria Il Poggio à montecarlo bien. La Piccola Enoteca à montecarlo bien.

The garden and pool area is nice and spacious. The loggia in front of the house makes the center of our family meals.

The local osteria across the road is really good.

The stay at the villa was very relaxing. The house corresponded to the description, everything you need was available. We were received very hospitably, our questions were answered at all times. A stay at Villa La Piaggia is highly recommended.

A True Tuscan Dream – Unforgettable Stay!

Our stay at this stunning Tuscan villa was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the perfect location, nestled among expansive gardens, vineyards, olive trees, and the most beautiful roses. It felt like stepping into a postcard.

Teresa, our host, was absolutely incredible – warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making our stay unforgettable. She is not only a gracious host but also a phenomenal cook! Every meal she prepared was a delight, made even more special by the fact that she used fresh produce from her own garden and vineyards. You can truly taste the love and care in everything she serves.

The villa itself had every amenity we could possibly need and was comfortable, charming, and full of character. The atmosphere was so peaceful, and every corner of the property offered something beautiful to take in.

We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Whether you’re after relaxation, incredible food, or an authentic Tuscan experience, this villa has it all. Huge thank you to Teresa and her amazing team – you made our stay truly unforgettable. We’ll be dreaming of this place until we return!

This place was magical. As soon as we arrived and saw the house and the property we decided to prolong our stay for one more day (and we would stay even longer if we could). The house is amazing, has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. We were 2 families with 4 children aged 8 - 12. The pool was a hit with them even though the water was quite cold but it did get warmer every day (we were lucky to have a very nice weather for this time of year - end of April/beginning of May). The hosts (Theresa, Paco, Diego) were also amazing. Even though the "pool season" starts on 10th May, they filled it on our request. The day we arrived they prepared traditional tuscany dishes for us and there was so much food we couldn't eat it all. They also sell their own products, olive oil, wine, vino santo, cantuccini... The location was perfect for us as we wanted to stay in one place and drive each day to visit places such as Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Sienna... We would definitely recommend this property!

La Piaggia is a spacious, comfortable villa that is full of rustic charm. Teresa and her son were very welcoming and checked that everything was ok on a regular basis. Teresa cooked food for us one night and it was amazing. The villa is well located for getting to Pisa, Florence, Cinqe Terre and the beaches at Viareggio. The nearby village of Montecarlo is lovely for an evening out. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Piaggia.

Restaurant Osteria Martinelli in Marginone was fabulous and only a 15 min walk away. We enjoyed a couple of evening out in Montecarlo which is a short drive away and Teresa can arrange a taxi if required.

Największym mankamentem była czystość (kurz po kątach, w zasłonach itd., stare sprzęty np. video w szafie i wiele innych). Czyste były ręczniki, pościele, podłogi, basen i to pozwoliło cieszyć się pobytem. Plusem była ilość przestrzeni dla 8 osób, osoba witająca przekąskami i pomidorami z ogrodu, miła okolica (cicha, na uboczu).

Super fijn verblijf omringd door mooie tuinen. We hebben ervan genoten. De sleutelbewaarder Teresa was zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij. Ze heeft ons een paar keer verrast met lekker eten en lekkere wijn.

Een heerlijke ontspannen vakantie op een goed onderhouden landgoed in Toscane met een heerlijk zwembad.
De eigenaresse was erg gastvrij en heeft ons regelmatig verrast met olijfolie, tomatensaus, groenten van eigen bodem en heerlijke lasagna. De slaapkamers waren in stijl ingericht en de woonkamer en keuken waren wat rommelig ingericht, maar dat is een kwestie van smaak. De veranda bij het huis was heerlijk!

La Piaggia bevind zich op een mooie plek om diverse plaatsen in Toscane te gaan zien. Montecarlo vonden wij als typisch Italiaans dorp erg leuk.

Wir glaubten, auf der Insel der Seligen angekommen zu sein. Das Rosarium unterhalb des Hauses war im Mai in der Hochblüte, Rosen überall auf dem Grundstück. Oberhalb des Hauses der Pool, umgeben von einem Olivenhain, dahinter hohe alte Eichen. Aus dem Fenster nach Westen sah man über die Hügel des Apennin auf die steil aufragenden Berge der Apuanischen Alpen, traumhaft. Nachts herrschte Stille.
Die Krönung war die überwältigende Gastfreundschaft Teresas und Ihrer Familie, sie brachte uns häufig gute Dinge zu essen, wie z.B. Ribollita, Bruschetta, Lasagne, Tiramisu und sehr guten Wein.
Unser Hund liebte vor allem die Hollywoodschaukel.

We had an amazing week at La Piaggia! Teresa and her family were wonderful, welcoming hosts. We were greeted with wine from the vineyards and homemade food. The countryside around the villa is beautiful. Wish I was still there!
