La famiglia che gestisce la casa ha anche la Trattoria la Rana a San Sano che offre una autentica cucina Toscana con vasta scelta di ottimi vini. Per noi é stata la seconda volta, e non vediamo l‘ora di ritornare.

Séjour très agréable. Superbe piscine.
Calme. Idéal pour 4 personnes.
Nous avons profité du resto du propriétaire juste à côté. Très pratique et en plus un des meilleurs de Gaiole in Chianti. Il a une très bonne et impressionnante cave à vins de la région. Et quelle région !
Maison simple. Confort moyen. La maison est moins fraîche que ce que l’on peut espérer. Il y a heureusement quelques ventilateurs indispensables la nuit (mois de juillet - chaud !).

Il faut profiter du resto des propriétaires juste à côté de la maison. Facile bien sûr mais agréable le soir et bonne cuisine italienne « come a la casa ». Si non Gaiole petit mais mignon. Par contre magasin coop cher. Nous allions au Coop près de Sienne. On a voulu essayer le 1 étoile à Gaiole - Il Pievano - entrée refusée car Monsieur ne portait pas de pantalon long (par 28 degrés en soirée). Dommage. Apparemment c’est écrit sur le site internet ?!

Tolles Haus mit großem Pool, ideal wenn man Ruhe sucht. Restaurant direkt neben dem Haus, sehr zu empfehlen. Ausflugsziele wie z.B. Siena oder Florenz sind gut zu erreichen (Siena ca. 30 Minuten / Florent ca. 60 Minuten).

La Grotta della rana

We had a wonderful time at La Rana. The villa was stunning, in a beautiful location with a fantastic restaurant next door. We had everything we needed in order to make meals at home and as our luggage never arrived (!) and we were using a capsule wardrobe bought in Siena, we were very grateful for the washing machine! The pool was a definite highlight, particularly as it was incredibly hot.

The restaurant next door was fabulous and we were very looked after by Davide and his team. We also took a trip to Osteria Il Papvero which was on a hill outside Giaole in Chianti which was superb! The food was amazing and actually a bit cheaper than Grotta La Rana. We would recommend it.

Es ist ein hervorragendes kleines Häuschen mit einem außerordentlich freundlichen Vermieter. Spricht nur italienisch.
Die Kücheeinrichtung und die Bäder sind in die Jahre gekommen. Besonders die Küche. Hier wäre ein Austausch der Geräte sehr notwendig. Und auch eine ordentliche Reinigung der Küche wäre angebracht.
Ein super toller Pool mit herrlicher Aussicht über die Landschaft.

Trattoria direkt neben der Unterkunft ist sehr nett mit guter, einfacher Küche. Gehört dem Vermieter und wird herzlichst geführt!!!!

La Rana is a very special place. It is positioned in a hamlet, next to a trattoria which is frequented every evening by anyone who is in the area and enjoys good food and wine (but no hassle, just convenience). The views are out of this world and pool and garden absolutely right in size and position. The house (interior) itself is fit for purpose and life happens outside so that is in itself of less importance. The owner Davide is friendliness personified, demonstrating the right balance between helpfulness and privacy. We have stayed in many different places/villa's in Italy and this ranks amongst the most enjoyable stays we've had.

The location and swimming pool were the best things about La Rana. Being right next to a lovely restaurant was a real bonus and the view from the swimming pool was special.
The negatives were that Said was not there to greet us on arrival even though we arrived when we said we would and we could not contact him nor find the villa ourselves. We had to wait half an hour for him to arrive while our shopping was heating up in the car. Because he doesn't speak any English there was no explanation.
The other major issue was that the bed was really hard and uncomfortable and caused me some painful back and shoulder ache. although David did ask if there were any issues, again the language barrier made it impossible to explain.

Hatten einen sehr schönen 2-wöchigen Aufenthalt. Schönes Haus, sehr angenehme und sehr hilfsbereite Vermieter, tolle Lage, Pool top.
Etwas störend war das Außenaggregat für die Kühlung des Nebengebäudes.
WLan-Ausleuchtung und Signalstärke könnten besser sein.
Über eine Renovierung der Küche sollte nachgedacht werden .

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine entre amis à La Rana dans un site enchanteur entouré de vignes et de cyprès. La villa, située au calme mais néanmoins au coeur du petit village de San Sano, est idéale pour des vacances reposantes. La bâtisse est composée de matériaux nobles et sait rester fraîche pour des nuits récupératrices ! L'équipement de la maison est satisfaisant et ses deux terrasses vous permettront de profiter de tous les points de vue : piscine ou vignes. Le jardin est fleuri et bien entretenu, agrémenté par le chant des oiseaux. A deux pas, la trattoria "La Grotta de la Rana" tenue par le propriétaire de la villa, saura vous accueillir et vous restaurer sans avoir besoin de reprendre la voiture. Bref, voilà un endroit qui a répondu en tous points à nos attentes.
Le seul petit bémol reste la communication difficile avec le propriétaire (fort sympathique au demeurant) qui ne parle ni le Français ni l'Anglais... dommage car nous aurions aimé échanger davantage avec lui.

Nous recommandons à Gaiole in Chianti la "Taverna Le Cose Buone" où vous pourrez déguster des produits frais (notamment du poisson). Nous conseillons le loup de mer, qui nous a été présenté et dressé en filets par le patron lui-même, très sympathique et qui se débrouille en Français. Nous recommandons également, dans le village de San Sano, l'Agriturismo où vous pourrez profiter d'une dégustation de chianti, accompagné d'une planche de charcuterie et de fromage. Enfin, après la visite du château "Castello di Brolio" vous terminerez votre promenade autour de son excellente table "L'osteria" où vous pourrez déguster, entre autres, du poulpe, dans un endroit ombragé et verdoyant. Une merveille pour les pupilles et les papilles !
