La Rana, San Sano - Gaiole in Chianti - Siena and Chianti
Perfect for small groups of friends or a family of four who favour both privacy and proximity to local village life, this well-appointed villa is a one-minute stroll from the nearest restaurant and grocery store. It’s an atmospheric little spot, too, situated in medieval San Sano, one of the best-preserved villages in Chianti, and a short drive from Siena, putting cuisine and culture are on your doorstep.
The villa’s open-plan layout creates a sociable space and blends well with rustic features including stone walls, brick arches, terracotta tiles, wooden beams and an open fireplace. Upstairs, the bedrooms, which have graceful vaulted beamed and tiled ceilings, offer lovely views across the grounds to the village and the gently rolling hills beyond. Outside, the landscaped garden has two terraces, either of which are perfect for relaxing with a glass of Chianti (what else?), and a private pool with vineyard views, which may well have produced that very same wine.
This attractive rural retreat offers well-maintained, gardens laid with pristine lawns, foliage and cypress trees and a secluded spot for a sundowner or al fresco dinner under the pretty raised pergola. The highlight, however, has to be the alluring postcard-perfect view, holiday snaps of which will be the envy of your friends and family. The turquoise pool will prove too inviting not to swim off a little of that local pasta.

Il faut profiter du resto des propriétaires juste à côté de la maison. Facile bien sûr mais agréable le soir et bonne cuisine italienne « come a la casa ».
Si non Gaiole petit mais mignon. Par contre magasin coop cher. Nous allions au Coop près de Sienne.
On a voulu essayer le 1 étoile à Gaiole - Il Pievano - entrée refusée car Monsieur ne portait pas de pantalon long (par 28 degrés en soirée). Dommage. Apparemment c’est écrit sur le site internet ?!
