Athena at Podere di Casalta, Castellina in Chianti - Siena and Chianti
Sitting on the hillside between Castellina in Chianti (8.5Km distance) and Panzano in Chianti (6.5Km distance) down an approach road of 1.5km, Podere di Casalta is a pretty collection of cottages and apartments. The resort's furnished sun-baked pool is fragrant with the rosemary that tumbles down its border wall. Making up the farm hamlet restoration, each holiday home which is individually owned, has solid crafted stone exteriors and traditional terracotta tiles with exposed beam designer finish interiors and a garden/terrace with a dining area. There are open views of rolling oak forests, vines, olives and hilltop towns.
While taking your front-row seat in the cool evening breeze to view the sunset you can plan a day trip to Siena, Florence and San Gimignano or a jaunt to the nearby Chianti villages to soak up your new way of life. Your plans may take you even closer to home tasting Monte Bernardi's organic wine 3Km away or dining with the locals at Le Panzanelle 5 Km away. If you're feeling the more energetic, you may take time out for an early morning vineyard run, bike ride or swim. If you want to stay in Chianti, this resort is it.

Wij hebben een fantastische vakantie gehad. Het appartement was super. Het huis lag mooi in de bergen met een geweldig mooi uitzicht. In werkelijkheid was het zelfs mooier dan op de foto’s.
BBQ aanwezig waar wij regelmatig gebruik van hebben gemaakt. Uiteraard is bij gebruik hier voorzichtigheid een pré. Gezond verstand gebruiken.
Alle dank aan de beheerder Riccardo, hij was een super aanvulling op onze vakantie. Hij heeft de tuin en het zwembad zo goed bijgehouden. Niets was teveel voor hem. Elke dag, gedurende de ochtend, was hij aanwezig voor hulp en vragen te beantwoorden. Tevens was hij via de what’s app altijd bereikbaar.
Nogmaals hartelijk dank Riccardo.
Zoals in de beschrijving duidelijk vermeld was de weg naar het huis een uitdaging. Grind en steil, voorzichtig rijden en opletten is zeker aan te raden.
Wellicht een puntje om extra te vermelden in de omschrijving, gebruik van de wasmachine is niet gratis. Zorg voor losse 1 euro munten, 4 euro per wasbeurt.

Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca en het dorpje Castellina in Chianti. Restaurants teveel om op te noemen. Grote supermarkt in Poggibonsi met een groot assortiment.
