Cradled by the Chianti hills, Podere La Casa is a peaceful retreat cloaked in countryside. Yet, the location is deceptive. An easy 800m walk from this quiet spot is the bustling town of Cavriglia and you’re just 10 minutes’ drive from the road that connects Florence to Arezzo and the promise of irresistible sightseeing. Turn inland to wind your way to the historic towns of Gaiole and Radda, calling by wineries to choose something special from the surrounding vineyards to go with dinner.
Yet take time out to just enjoy your surroundings, too. Podere La Casa is perfect for groups of four adults and one young child, so you might be surprised to find that the kidney-shaped pool with its generous wraparound sundeck and gazebo, plus two stretches of lawn, one with a barbecue, are just for your party to enjoy.
The inviting shaded terrace that lines the front of the house is likely to be a popular place to relax. Inside there are two good-sized bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, and a small single for the child. A well-equipped kitchen, large enough for a dining table, sits at the heart of the property, and there’s a lounge area, too. The simple modern décor offsets traditional Tuscan touches such as the tiled and beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. It's both a comfy and well-connected villa, the best of both worlds.

Villa location
The pretty town of Cavriglia is just 800m away, where you can immerse yourself in Tuscan life style, joining the locals for coffee or aperitivo in the square. The town has a supermarket, shops, bars and restaurants including an excellent pizzeria. There is a train station at Montevarchi, 10 km away, with direct train access to Florence and offers a free car park.

We had the most wonderful time at Podere La Casa. Beautiful setting in amongst the birds down a quiet track, with all the benefits of the local town amenities. We sampled all the delights and had the best Gnocchi at a local restaurant. Matteo our host could not have been more helpful. When we had the unfortunate event of knocking the hire car tyre and needed a garage to replace it Matteo was brilliant and sorted the whole thing out. We are so grateful. Lovely villa in a perfect location.We had a lot of fun sampling wine, olive oil and honey at local vineyards- Sembolini, Castello di Brolio, the Roseto Botanico, we went to Florence on the train which was so easy!
