You'll discover that the homely, though smart exterior belies a high-end internal finish. The refurbishment has retained the original features, such as terracotta tiles on both floor and – more dramatically – the high ceiling. All bedrooms have the same exquisite touches of finesses and charm that characterise the rest of the property.

You'll find that both the stone courtyard and covered terrace are just the spot for al fresco dining (the stone walls take the edge off the heat of the day). The nearest town is San Gusmè, which is about 2.5km away. It's a small, quaint stone village which has a couple of restaurants and a small grocery shop. Definitely worth a visit, however for more shopping choice it is better to go to Castelnuovo Berardenga which is 6km away. This is a large town with all amenities, from a supermarket, pharmacy, bank, petrol station and a choice of cafés and restaurants.
