Sassolaia is a Chianti holiday home in a dreamlike secluded location, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards with sweeping panoramic views of the Chianti Classico hills. This single-storey villa with its well-tended garden offers complete peace and is ideal for a family or two couples wanting to enjoy the authentic Tuscan countryside.
The house is located in the heart of Chianti Classico with easy access to renowned wineries and historic castles. The famous Castello di Ama, known for its collection of contemporary art, is just a few kilometres away. The charming towns of Radda and Gaiole are only 10 to 15 minutes away by car and offer great restaurants, small shops, and a supermarket. The picturesque village of Lecchi, home to the excellent Ristorante Malborghetto, is just 2.5 kilometres away. Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, and Arezzo are all ideal for day trips.
Sassolaia is peacefully located in the Tuscan hills, offering rural seclusion while still being well connected. The traditional stone façade gives the house its Tuscan character. A large covered terrace is perfect for outdoor meals and relaxed barbecues. The manicured garden with lawn and a beautiful pool invites you to unwind and enjoy the views.
The house is all on one level and has a practical layout, making it comfortable and easy to live in.
Inside, the combination of Tuscan country style, exposed wooden beams, and a warm, welcoming interior creates an immediate sense of home.

As a returning guest we found our two week stay in Sassolaia to be as tranquil as ever, the beautiful grounds and pool set you up for a super day by the pool or if you prefer a trip to the local deli/bar in Lecchi in Chianti, six minutes drive away ( turn left out of the driveway). Laura ( owner) and her family are very friendly and attentive as required during out stay as usual.
The villa is very well appointed with everything you will need for a great stay in Tuscany. The outside eating area has new pull across screens fitted if you choose to use them in the evening for dinner to avoid any unwanted little guests.
This is our go to Villa in Tuscany for the seclusion and modern features.
Try a visit ( you will need to book as it gets very busy) Ristorante Malborghetto in Lecchi in Chianti, tell Simone Gary from the UK recommended it. For shopping try the Coop in Radda in Chianti ( free parking) and take a Euro coin for the trolley. Before you shop take a stroll around the outside of Radda and check out the views across the valley, perfect! For coffee, lunch or evening drinks try Bar/Enoteca Rinaldi also in Lecchi, check opening times! Castellina in Chianti is great for a visit as well as Florence and Sienna of course.
