Seated on a hillside, Vecchio Fienile has extensive views across archetypal Val d'Elsa countryside of rolling vineyards, olive groves and wooded areas. The resorts Tuscan stone barn was restored into five apartments for holiday rentals, each having modern fittings and its own outdoor dining area. The Val d'Elsa is known for its stunning golden sunsets, so at this resort, you will not be disappointed.
Conveniently, Vecchio Fienile's quiet countryside location is 4 km from the motorway making day trips to the enchanting San Gimignano, Volterra, Florence and Siena easy. The busy, modern town of Poggibonsi is just 5km away, but you can travel 6km to Barberino Val d'Elsa for a more traditional village experience. Venturing out from the resort by foot, you may choose to walk 1km up to Sant'Appiano and its 1,000 year old chapel before moving onto the open-terrace restaurant. Returning after dinner is a spectacle of dotted hilltop lights and the wonders of the open skies.

Accueil chaleureux, visite complète des installations et instructions sur le fonctionnement des appareils, maison typique de la Toscane ,une vue tout aussi typique, le site est d'un calme légendaire étant en basse saison nous en avons tiré avantage. La gestionnaire est d'une grande disponibilité et très sympathique. Un restaurant typique de la Toscane est un plus pour nous avec une vue magnifique . Piscine et BBQ à notre disponibilité. Un séjour très apprécié, nous recommandons, qui dit Toscane, dit route étroite et montagneuse, c'est aussi le charme!

Restaurants - Borgo Antico in Tavernelle, great host and good reasonably priced food. Osteria i Antica Quercia in San Appiano is highly recommended - a liitle bit more expensive than our norm but worth for a last night. Vico Furbo in VICO another good choice - enormous range of Pizza here at reasonable prices. La Sosta di Pio V11 was also very good and better than a last visit there a number of years back
