Set in a vast garden with lush lawns and trees, this villa is a superb place to host a gathering of family or friends who embrace the outdoors. Vivaio is a beautiful and comfortable stone-built house in the heart of the beloved Chianti region. There’s plenty of privacy throughout the grounds, and the unfenced property seamlessly opens out onto the Tuscan landscapes. Despite being situated in the lower part of the valley, the views are still superb all around, with hills and forests creating a breath-taking backdrop.
With high ceilings and terracotta floors, the interior at Vivaio is homely and uncluttered. The dark-wood furniture and doors add a sense of class and grandeur and the bedrooms have great views from the windows. The lounge is particularly impressive, with lots of space to relax together and enjoy each other’s company. Plus, as an added bonus, one of the seven bedrooms is housed in its own cottage with a kitchen, lounge and mezzanine floor.

We love the house, its position etc but there are a few things that could make the stay better. Given that it can sleep sixteen, there is not enough seating in the drawing room for everyone. Previously, there were two large sofas and two armchairs round the fireplace as well as the seating by the telly. Now there is only one sofa. We had rain for four days and so needed more comfortable indoor seating. The kitchen has masses of plates but not a single mug..only cups and saucers which are not in enough quantity for everyone. Ditto for Moka coffee…just one pot which for all of us was not enough. All the wine glasses are too tall for the washing up machine and so someone had to do a major hand wash twice a day..very tedious. The new staff were lovely and helpful….he got us more umbrellas for by the pool…2 between everyone was not enough..more large roasting tins.etc.. on the good side, we only had no electricity once in two weeks which is pretty good for Vivaio!! We love the house and have rebooked for next year. Maybe if the owners stayed there with a full house and were doing the catering, they would get a better idea of what I mean!! Ps.no dustpan and brush!
