Bellini at Galenda

Bellini is found in the centre of the hamlet Galenda, it is a semi-detached villa. Bellini is part of an ancient structure maintained as it was originally built, it preserves the traditional atmosphere of a typical Tuscan cottage with the comforts of a modern home. The villa has been restored with care and attention, it is furnished tastefully to a high standard. It has external original stonewalls and internal high ceilings of terra cotta tiles and wooden beams distinctive of the ‘old’ Tuscan style.
Bellini has a terrace furnished with table and chairs for dining al fresco. The villa overlooks the central grassy piazza of the hamlet and both from the terrace and from the balcony there is a pretty view of it. It provides an ideal setting to relax immersed in the typical Tuscan atmosphere.
The villa is entered up some stairs a few steps away from the terrace. Entering the villa there is a spacious dining area with a modern kitchen fully equipped with gas hobs, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and oven.
The dining room gives access through an arch to a large lounge. Here are all the comforts for indoor living: a large comfortable sofa and an armchair, a modern fireplace, a flat SAT TV, DVD and CD players. On one side of the lounge there is a large door leading to the balcony that provides the room with a lot of light and a gorgeous view of the hamlet.
Near the dining area there is one of the two bedrooms with a double bed. This is a comfortable bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with shower. It also has a built-in wardrobe.
From the lounge there are stairs leading to the second floor where there is a second spacious comfortable bedroom with a double bed and one large bathroom with a hydro massage tub and a shower. An indoor balcony that overlooks the dining area connects the two rooms.
Bellini is well positioned to visit the Chianti. All the main Tuscan towns are within easy reach.
The owner is an architect and the villa is furnished to a high standard.
Internet WI-FI available in the villa for free. Please bring your own laptop.

Galenda is a small romantic hamlet located not far from Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti, two of the main towns of the area. Galenda sits at the top of a hill surrounded by typical Chianti Classico Tuscan landscape with cypresses, olive groves and vineyards.
The swimming pool is located about 50 meters away from the villas with vineyards rising to one side and a fantastic panoramic view across the Chianti hills to the other. It is the perfect place for relaxing after a day of sightseeing with it’s intimate atmosphere. There is a separate pool for children.
Galenda is an ensemble of 12 houses all renovated to extraordinary standards and all with a private entrance and garden or terrace . High quality materials have been used for the restoration: handmade terracotta floors and the beautiful terracotta tiled, typical Tuscan high ceilings with wooden beams are distinctive features of these charming villas. There are two roads passing through the hamlet that join and ending in a small charming square. The communal car park is located at the entrance to the property.
Galenda lies in a completely quiet rural setting, away from the flow of tourists, however is the perfect place from which to explore the entire Chianti. It is convenient to visit all the main towns and villages of this fascinating part of Tuscany, such as Radda, Gaiole, Castellina, Greve and Panzano. The historical art centres of Siena, San Gimignano and Florence can be reached by car in about half an hour.
Pool Info
The pool is located to one side of the property, about 50 meters away from the closest villas. It is situated in an excellent sunny position above the hamlet. With excellent views of the Tuscan hills from one side and olive groves to the other, this corner of Galenda offers an amazing setting for relaxing in the warm Tuscan sunshine.
The oval pool is shared between the twelve villas and is surrounded by a terrace with magnificent views of the natural Tuscan landscape. It lies on a lawn furnished with sun beds and umbrellas. There is also an external shower. In a corner there is a communal table shaded by the olive trees ideal to enjoy an aperitif while admiring the stunning scenery. Close to the main pool there is a small one for children.
The pool is oval shaped. It is 14x4-6 meter, 1.35 meters deep. The baby pool is 3 meters width, 50 cm. deep. They are open from May to September/October depending on weather conditions.
Nearest town
Galenda is located 5 km away from Lecchi in Chianti where there is a grocery store with provisions counter, a cafe bar which is open from Easter to October and a restaurant open all year round. Florence is 45 km away, Siena 20 km, Gaiole can be reached by car in about 20 minutes and Radda in Chianti in about 10 minutes.

Die Lage und das Ambiente lassen "Toscanastimmung" aufkommen. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, was außerhalb der Saison für die Eigenverpflegung von Vorteil ist.
Kleinigkeiten beeintächtigen den Gesamteindruck z. B.:Schimmel in der Dusche. Kaputte bzw. nicht vorhandene Glühbirnen. Zu späte Beleuchtung des Areals, was den Weg am Abend ( November) Parkplatz -Haus zum Abenteuer werden lassen.
Wir waren täglich in Sachen "Sightseeing" unterwegs. Im November ist das Angebot an gastronomischen Betrieben in der Nähe eingeschrenkt.

We enjoyed a wonderful time in Tuscany and appreciate your website with the accommodations we were able to select from....The apartment we rented in Galenda was perfect...beautiful surroundings, clean and convenient yet tucked away...we would definitely go there again...Radda was awesome..as the other hill towns but Radda was a great central location. We did a lot of driving and site-seeing including visits to Florence, Pisa, Livorno, Certaldo Alto, San Gimignano and Siena. We enjoyed dining and walking around Radda as well. About 1,500 pictures later we have great memories of our vacation.

We did a lot of driving and site-seeing including visits to Florence, Pisa, Livorno, Certaldo Alto, San Gimignano and Siena. We enjoyed dining and walking around Radda as well. About 1,500 pictures later we have great memories of our vacation.

Highlights: finding the natural pools nearby. having breakfast outside our villa in the wonderful suuroundings. THe local wildlife, lizards butterflies, moths etc. The local town. Shooting stars at night.
Unpleasant surprises: a scorpion in the wooden lounge table, but this was quite exciting. Regular Appearance of horse flies at the pool side especially when lawns being mowed. Meant we had to vacate poolside after short periods of time. Locked ourselves out by accident first day as we didn't realise door would self lock when closed, please warn guests.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
