L'Ormasso at La Locanda del Moro

Although this villa is on the first floor it is accessed directly from the upper slopes of the garden. It has been well restored with wooden floors, beams and furnishings to provide a warm and comfortable country home.
The villa is entered from the covered furnished terrace that also has a barbeque. From the terrace there are pretty views over the surrounding fields and down to the valley below and distant hills.
You enter the villa into the main living area; to one side there is a fully equipped kitchenette that includes gas hobs, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. In this room there is also a wooden table that seats four and a large comfortable sofa.
To the left there is the sleeping area that is composed of a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. From the double room there are excellent views of the valley below. Between the two bedrooms there is a bathroom with shower.
The twin bedroom can be made into a double on request. If you require two doubles please request this when you book otherwise you will find the villa as described.
There is an extra charge of 60 Euro per week for pets, this is for the extra cleaning that must be done after their departure
Internet WI-FI available in the villa for free. Please bring your own laptop.

Situated to the North of Tuscany La Locanda del Moro provides you with a different Tuscany experience. This property of 2 villas gives you total peace and relaxation but also has the possibility of an active holiday due to the wealth of activities in the area.
La Locanda sits on a hillside where it boasts excellent views of the valley below and distant hills dotted with villages and forests. It’s location in the Tuscan mountains allows you to sample a part of Tuscany not well known to many travellers, the local produce is just one of the many attractions at La Locanda.
At this property there is something for everyone with activities ranging from just relaxing by the pool, to visiting historical towns, to hiking and canyoning in the nearby natural parks. The owners also live at the property and will be able to help you with all activities, provide you with local products such as jams and cheeses.

Pool Info
The large inviting pool is situated in the lovely grounds of La Locanda del Moro a short distance from the villas. It is surrounded by wonderful views of the Tuscan countryside.
The pool is shared between the two villas and the owner. It is furnished with comfortable sun chairs and umbrellas. From here you can take in the stunning view while watching the sheep pasturing nearby.
The pool is 6 x 12 meters and 1.5meters deep; it is open from May to September.
There is a Jacuzzi available only during the Autumn, Winter and Spring, from the beginning of September to the end of May. This is the period when the swimming pool is closed. The cost of the Jacuzzi is included in the price for usage of 30minutes per day. The Jacuzzi times must be booked tentatively in advance, they can be changed on arrival.
Your hosts are also local guides and can help you with activities such as biking, both for the adults and children, trekking, canyoning and caving. This location is ideal to explore the Garfagnana area, allowing you to have an active holiday but also the possibility to relax in total peace admiring the views by the crystal pool.
Nearest town
There is the village Sillico about 200meters away where there is a small shop. Pieve Fosciana is 7km away and is larger, it has several shops and restaurants.

Nos hôtes Monica et Danilo sont absolument charmants et ont une connaissance absolue de la région permettant ainsi de conseiller au mieux leurs invités sur les différentes activités et visites en fonction de leurs souhaits.
La table d'hôtes est également une merveille.

The walks around the village were great. The restaurant in the village also wondeful - very friendly and great (and very well priced) food. Walks in nearby national parks also very good

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Highlights waren die wirklich überwälltigende Natur und das gepflegte Grundstück. Der Ausblick auf die Berge war unvergesslich. Weiterer Höhepunkt war der Pool (groß, sauber und ungechlort). Unsere Tochter war insbesondere fasziniert von den Schafen und wilden Ziegen in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Wer Ruhe und Natur sucht findet hier eine luxoriöse Möglichkeit seinen Traumurlaub fernab von Tourtistenmassen zu vergringen.
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Der Gesamteindruck der Unterbringung ist sehr gut. Die Wohnung ist liebevoll eingerichtet und komplett ausgestattet. Obwohl drei Parteien im Haus leben (2 Ferienwohnungen und die Vermieter) hatten wir ein Höchstmaß an Privatssphäre. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ich habe es vorher z.B. noch nie erlebt, dass Vermieter zur Begrüßung einen Kuchen backen und es als Abschiedsgeschenk selbsgemachte Marmelade gibt.
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Nein.
Haben Sie andere Anmerkungen? Wir waren zwar durch Ihre Wegbeschreibung darauf vorbereitet, dass wir nur über eine 7 km lange Passstraße zum Haus gelangen, dass diese aber so eng und steil ist, ist für deutsche Autofahrer doch gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die wundervolle Lage des Hauses und der damit verbundene Ausblick haben uns jedoch voll entschädigt.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
