Surrounded by nature, La Locanda del Moro is an excellent choice for guests seeking an active yet peaceful holiday away from Tuscany’s more familiar routes. The small village of Sillico is only a short walk away and offers a good restaurant and a small shop. Around seven kilometres away lies Pieve Fosciana, where all essential amenities including supermarkets are available. The Garfagnana is ideal for outdoor pursuits such as hiking, mountain biking and canoeing. The area around Sillico also lies along historic medieval pilgrimage routes across the Apennines and features over 30 kilometres of well-marked trails passing through beautiful landscapes, villages, ancient mills and hermitages. The owners, who live on site, are happy to assist guests with outdoor activities and also provide local products such as homemade jams and cheeses. For a cultural day trip, the charming city of Lucca is about an hour away by car, renowned for its many churches and magnificent intact city walls.
