Antica Sosta is a delightful holiday home on the edge of a small cluster of houses that once served as a halt for travellers making their way from Florence to Volterra. With its convenient location and fully enclosed garden, it is perfect for families and for anyone wishing to explore this beautiful part of Tuscany.
A five-minute walk from the house takes you to the popular restaurant and bar Chiosco ai Renai. The historic town of Castelfiorentino, just 4 km away, offers all amenities. Positioned on the border between the Pisan, Florentine and Sienese lands, the town has always had political, military and cultural importance, leaving it with a rich architectural and artistic heritage. Antica Sosta also enjoys an ideal position for day trips to Pisa, Volterra, Florence, San Gimignano and Siena, all within an hour’s drive.
The house is painted in a warm shade of yellow and surrounded by well-kept lawns and flower beds. A shaded terrace with dining table and chairs invites you to enjoy meals al fresco. Children will love the small playground with trampoline, while a pizza oven, barbecue and the beautiful pool area add to the pleasures of outdoor living.
This two-storey home has been lovingly restored. On the first floor you will find terracotta floors and traditional beamed ceilings. Soft pastel-coloured walls and individually furnished rooms with thoughtful details create a warm and homely atmosphere.

Overall, a lovely holiday, we appreciated that the pool was cleaned every day and the villa was well maintained. However, we found the instructions for the daily re-cycling system complicated and confusing. A small point, we were a party of 9 and there were not enough mugs. The iron was leaking water near the cable so probably needs replacing. The nearest shop is a drive away, so visitors need to be well stocked with toilet rolls etc. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity this is quite a noisy area close to the road with neighbours and a lovely but noisy bar. At the end of the holiday we were presented with an unexpected cleaning bill of €140.00 which we paid and then had to be reimbursed as this was a mistake on the owners part. Thanks to To Tuscany for sorting this out so quickly. On the whole, we would happily travel with To Tuscany again, but would not visit this location or villa again.
Die Bar um die Ecke, sehr gut und günstig! Freundliche Atmosphäre! Meist selbst gekocht und bei Coop in Castelfiorentino eingekauft!
