Casanovina, Castellina in Chianti - Siena and Chianti
Set on an open ridge, to the rear of an old farm house this well-appointed villa scores top marks for its dreamy private pool views. It is 2 km to drive or 1.5km to walk to the charming Chianti town of Castellina with its local shops and several excellent restaurants. Siena, San Gimignano and Florence are all easily reached by car; and, on clear days, the first two of these are visible from Casanovina. Casanovina's outstanding location means there are locals living in its neighbouring apartments including the owners who will be on hand to help should you need it.
With four double bedrooms split between two in the main house and two in the separate annexe apartment, the property can accommodate up to eight people. Depending on your party, you may have a battle on your hands for the annexe apartment: its independent lounge-kitchen-diner and en-suite bedrooms will appeal to older and younger generations alike. But everyone will love the generous secluded pool, with its Roman steps, set on a romantic lower terrace with spectacular views of the surrounding Tuscan landscape. Sun loungers and a shady loggia with table and chairs, bar fridge and table tennis are enough to keep you here for hours – that is, until scent from the jasmine-covered pergola on the top furnished terrace, just outside the house, claims you for an evening meal while night sets in.
Casanovina is a place you can relax into very quickly. We think you’ll be genuinely torn between wanting to dine under your lovely pergola and trying another of Castellina’s restaurants. The combination of the property’s private pool valley views and proximity to Castellina makes it hard to beat.

Wir waren mit 8 Personen und einem kleinen Hund für 2 Wochen in der Casanovina und haben einen sehr schönen Urlaub verbracht. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von der Tochter des Hauses begrüsst. als Willkommensgeschenk standen eine kleine Fkasche Olivenöl (eigener Produktion) und eine Flasche Chianti für uns bereit.
Das Olivenöl ist von bester Qualität und ich habe schon viele probiert, aber das Öl von Fabrizio dem Hausherrn, ist hervorragend weshalb wir auch ein paar Liter gekauft haben.
Die Villa verfügt über alle Annehmlichkeiten die es benötigt um einen völlig entspannten Urlaub zu geniessen.
Hervorzuheben ist der tolle Garten mit dem grossen Pool der bis zu 2,2m tief und sehr erfrischend war. Selbst ein Kühlschrank, grosse Pergola, eine Tischtennisplatte und ausreichend Schattenplätze mit Sonnenschirme ;) war vorhanden.
Die Aussicht ist gigantisch und lies selbst die Siluette von Siena erahnen.
Wir genossen auch jeden Abend das laue Lüftchen welches oben am Haus mit der wunderschönen Pergola wehte.
Von der Villa aus konnte man in nur wenige Minuten in den Ort Castellina fahren oder in 20 Minuten zu Fuss erreichen. Auch Städte wie Florenz, Siena oder San Gimignano waren in 30 bis 45min zu erreichen.
Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich bei Fabrizio für seine Gastfreundschaft bedanken, er hat uns vieles ermöglicht und seine liebenswerte und freundliche Art hat diesen Urlaub zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht.Es gibt viele gute Restaurants in Castellina. Auch die Gelateria di Castellina ist sehr zu empfehlen.
