Colle di Sotto, Montelupo Fiorentino - Florence and Chianti

Colle di Sotto is a beautiful estate set on a gentle hill with sweeping panoramic views across the plains of the river Arno. It is the ideal choice for families and larger groups of friends, offering plenty of space to retreat as well as to come together. A special highlight is that guests here have the rare luxury of two pools.

Only 5 kilometres away lies Montelupo Fiorentino with shops and restaurants. Situated on the banks of the Arno, the town has been renowned for its ceramics since the Middle Ages. Visitors can learn more at the local ceramics museum or during the international ceramics festival held every June. Also nearby is Empoli, famous for its master glassmakers. Florence is just 29 kilometres away, and we recommend travelling there by train from Montelupo Fiorentino or Empoli. Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano and the Tuscan coast are all excellent destinations for day trips.

The estate consists of two holiday homes. The larger house has been partly rendered and painted in an earthy pink, with areas of natural stone left exposed. Just a few steps away lies one of the pools. The smaller house is painted cream. Both houses feature sheltered terraces for al fresco dining. The grounds are surrounded by olive groves. Below the houses is the second, larger pool with a seating area shaded by a pergola, a perfect spot to enjoy spectacular sunsets.

Inside, both houses retain traditional Tuscan features such as terracotta floors and wooden-beamed ceilings. The larger holiday home Colle di Sotto has bright colours downstairs creating a cheerful feel, while the upper floor is more muted and calming. The smaller holiday home Cottage Colle di Sotto is decorated in a similar style. Both are comfortably furnished and enriched with many carefully chosen details.
