La Quercia is a small, peaceful estate set in the Tuscan hills, ideal for guests seeking nature, privacy and relaxation. The property consists of three holiday apartments and a detached villa, located in a well-kept, wooded residential area near the spa town of Sassetta. Each holiday apartment has its own furnished outdoor area, perfect for enjoying relaxed meals outdoors and long summer evenings. A lovely shared pool is available to all guests and can be reached via a staircase. The setting combines tranquillity with convenient access to the surrounding area.
The charming village of Sassetta is known for its thermal waters and its unique red marble, found nowhere else in the world and traditionally shaped by skilled stone masons and sculptors. The village offers restaurants, bars and small shops, while larger supermarkets are located in Donoratico, just six minutes away by car. The coast at Marina di Castagneto, with its beach clubs and more than 30 km of sandy beaches, lies about 16 km away. For those looking for fun and excitement, the Cavallino Matto amusement park is only a short drive away. Nearby, medieval hilltop villages such as Castagneto Carducci, Monteverdi Marittimo and Canneto invite exploration, while wine lovers will enjoy the wineries of the Bolgheri region. Nature enthusiasts can visit the Rifugio Faunistico di Bolgheri.
About the villa
Erica is a bright ground floor holiday apartment with comfortable, welcoming furnishings. From the kitchen, you step out onto a private terrace beneath a gazebo, featuring a very large travertine dining table and wrought-iron chairs and settees with comfortable cushions, perfect for dining al fresco. A garden with additional seating and plenty of natural shade from the trees completes the outdoor space.

Sauberkeit: Geschirr mit Essensresten und ein überfälliger Dampfabzug waren auffällig. Der Kühlschrank war unsauber, aber insgesamt war es nach italienischem Standard sauber.
Lage: Die Unterkunft liegt ruhig und abgelegen, aber der steile Weg dorthin ist nicht für jeden geeignet. Mit unserem Hund und den Mountainbikes war das Fahren auf Straßen begrenzt, da Waldwege fehlten. Private Wege dominieren die Gegend. Ein Pluspunkt ist der Zugang zum privaten "La Soldanella"-Botanischen Garten mit Parkplätzen und Strandzugang. Die Ruhezonen mit Hängematten, Sonnenschirmen, Dusche und WC sind ausgezeichnet.
Schlüsselübergabe: Unkompliziert, wobei die Vermieter nur einfaches Englisch sprechen. Keine Kaution erforderlich.
Komfort: Das Haus hat drei Apartments, und man hört jedes Geräusch. Leider hatten wir lärmende Nachbarn oben. Das Grundstück und die Sitzecken könnten Pflege gebrauchen - Pflanzen wuchern und einige Platten sind abgesackt. Ein Gärtner könnte helfen, besonders da es unangenehme Gerüche von verendeten Tieren gab.
Besonderes: Die Gastgeber sind herzlich. Zu unserem Jubiläum gab es Karte und Wein. Ein nächtliches Picknick in La Soldanella, organisiert von den Gastgebern mit zwei anderen Paaren, war ein Highlight.
Abschließend: Wir sahen Kleinigkeiten nicht als Kritik, sondern als Hinweis. Abgesehen von einem Nachbarn fühlten wir uns wohl. Als CH oder DE Gäste könnten Erwartungen von denen in Italien abweichen.Wir sind mit einem Elektrofahrzeug angereist. Lademöglichkeiten gibt es bei der Unterkunft nicht. Bzw. Die Vermieter wollen nicht, das von der 230V Steckdose geladen wird. Es gibt am Meer vereinzelte langsame Ladestationen, diese sind aber entweder defekt oder langzeit-belegt. Eine gute Ladestation ist die EnelXWay Charging StationVia Firenze, 31, 57027 San Vincenzo LI, Italien welche 22 KM oder 32 Minuten entfernt ist
