What a villa!
We were met by Anita from the host service at the villa, who was so welcoming- we felt at home straight away.
On entering the front door, you find a vast open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area. There are 3 double sofas in the lounge around a table. From here you go outside to an amazing decking area with outdoor breakfast bar and loads of seating.
Down the stairs are 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 twin, which are all well appointed. Either out of the doors from the 2 double bedrooms or from the kitchen you reach the stunning infinity pool- the views across the Tuscan fields are priceless. There are 4 sunbeds and these can be positioned on 2 sides of the pool, to find shade or sun as you wish.
Fans were provided, which even on the hot days kept the bedrooms cool enough.
The only downside is the bumpy track up to the villa- it's about 800m, and rough- you need an SUV, and possibly even 4 wheel drive to get up it.
Both Radda and Gaiole are within a few minutes drive, and have all the amenities and restaurants you need. For massive pizzas try Pizza Pie in Radda, or a more formal but still relaxed restaurant at La Perlla del Palazzo. There are loads of others to explore. We also liked the down to earth and great value bar in the centre of Giaole. Must explores are the various local towns including San Gimignano or Voltera, or the slightly further larger Sienna- we much prefer this to the chaotic Florence A bit further still is Lucca, but cycling around its old walls never fails to raise a smile.
