This romantic contemporary hideaway garners top marks from those who’ve discovered it – including, not surprisingly, a honeymoon couple. Set on a larger property that includes the owners’ home and a small rented cottage, it combines seclusion with views of classic Chianti countryside. Just a short hop from Gaiole, one of the most popular hilltop towns, the villa is ideal for exploring the wine-producing region. However, its charms will encourage you to spend a lot of time here. It’s eco-friendly: it runs entirely on solar power. And, as if these ingredients were not enough, you are free to enjoy fresh eggs from the owners’ chicken coop and organic produce from their vegetable garden. This is Tuscany on a plate.
Your private pool, set against a sculptural rock wall, is unique. Climbing roses tumble over your terrace; a vineyard edges the garden; cypress trees add elegant punctuation marks. In warm weather, you’re likely to want all your meals al-fresco on the terrace; an open fireplace and dining area indoors are great for cooler spring or autumn evenings. A separate ‘wellness area’ near the villa next to a vineyard of the owner, with a heated Jacuzzi, sunloungers, a changing room, bar fridge and outdoor table and chairs, is an alternative for long, indulgent evenings.

Das Ferienhaus ist sehr ruhig gelegen und komfortabel ausgestattet. Das Haus ist aufgrund der Bauart sehr kühl, wir haben auch bei bis zu 30°C Außentemperatur die Klimaanlage nicht benötigt. Der Pool hat eine gute Größe, das Wasser ist klar und sauber, die Sonnenliegen sind bequem. Alles in allem sind die Anlage und das Haus sehr gepflegt und sauber, alles ist modern und in sehr gutem Zustand. Wir würden das Ferienhaus auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen, den Urlaub dort haben wir sehr genossen. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zufahrt zum Haus erfolgt über eine unbefestigte Schotterstraße, diese könnte für tiefliegende Sportwagen problematisch sein :-) Ein Fahrzeug mit ausreichender Bodenfreihet ist hier von VorteilWir haben im Ort Gaiole in mehreren Restaurants gegessen, alle waren in unseren Augen sehr gut, wobei uns vom Ambieten her die Osteria Al Ponte am besten gefiel. Wir haben einige Tagesauflüge gemacht und uns die vielen kleinen Orte mit den historischen Ortskernen angeschaut. Siena war ebenfalls sehr schön und vom Besucheraufkommen noch in Ordnung, Florenz hingegen war vollkommen überlaufen, weshalb den Tagestrip dorthin relativ schnell wieder abgebrochen haben.
