Located in the centre of this small hamlet, close to the pool area is La Torre Vecchia, the master house (casa padronale). This two bedroomed villa has two floors and a large covered upper terrace with gorgeous views over Tuscan vineyards and hills.
The entrance to the villa is via a small courtyard up a flight of stone stairs to the main entrance under the covered terrace. The front door leads directly into the kitchen/diner. The beautifully appointed modern kitchen with its beamed ceiling and tiled floor, has wooden fitted units with built in oven, dishwasher, double stone sink and a fridge. The separate island unit has gas hobs with extractor unit and plenty of storage space. Cooks love the equipment they find in the cupboards.  The dining section has a large wooden table and chairs, an armchair and a raised open fireplace.
From the kitchen/diner, three steps through a brick archway lead into the spacious lounge area. This has two 3-seat sofas and one comfortable armchair, arranged around the open plan fireplace that dominates the room. This is a great place to relax and watch the TV (different channels and plenty of DVDs ) or read a book away from the heat of the day.

The family bathroom is next to the lounge area. This room certainly has the wow factor, with its stone tiled walls, separate vanity unit with modern basin, huge mirrors and ornate slipper bath with telephone taps and expensive fixtures make this a very luxurious bathroom.
A marble curved staircase with rope handrail takes you upstairs from the kitchen/diner. The master bedroom is a bright spacious room with three windows, all with views over the countryside and hamlet. There is a king-size bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a desk and a built in wardrobe; to one side is a further single bed and air-conditioning unit. This is an ideal room for parents with a younger child.

Across the corridor from the master bedroom is the upstairs bathroom. This has beamed ceilings and stone tiled walls with expensive fixtures including a very sizeable shower.
The second bedroom has beamed ceilings, tiled floors and a double wrought iron bed. It also has a large wardrobe and air-conditioning unit.
Outside the front door there is a large covered terrace with table and chairs. This is a great place to dine ‘al fresco’ because of the stunning views across the vineyards and Tuscan countryside. There is also a stone courtyard with a wrought iron table and chairs and lounge chair in which to relax. The swimming pool with a marvelous view on the surrounding vineyards and equipped with lounge chairs is just across the footpath , past the old well in the small private garden.

Throughout the day, several sunny and shaded areas around the villa ensure that both sun and shadow lovers will enjoy their stay.  The covered terrace allows for outside dining with great views even in case of rain.
Beautifully decorated villa in an ideal location for families.

Mosquito screens are on all the windows. The thick walls of the villa provide freshness inside throughout the day. Moreover, the two bedrooms have air-conditioning, for which you pay extra per use.

Location: Vignale

Vignale is a small hamlet that has a total of 6 private homes. It is located on top of a Chianti hill that gives it the luxury of a stunning view all around. Within a short drive there are three of the five famous Chianti towns: Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Gaiole in Chianti.
Vignale was lovingly restored in 2002 taking special care to blend the new with the ancient creating an old hamlet that has apartments that have every modern convenience. The large pool sits on the crest of the hill overlooking the vineyards in the valley below and across the Chianti hills beyond.

In the valley below the hamlet flows the River Arbia, the historic dividing line between Florence and Siena. Nearby there are a host of wineries that are filled with gastronomic delights and a dizzying selection of wine shops.

Pros Peace, quiet and tranquility with a panoramic view (and as a contrast it was fantastic watching a storm track around the valley…wow!). The interior was well appointed, characterful and very well equipped. The beds were comfortable…a must for those trips away from home and after a long day driving along twisting and turning local roads. The infinity pool was a treat and a great cool down on a hot day.
Cons The drive up to the property was an adventure and in rain not for the faint hearted. Loved the challenge but it did mean that it was a trek to get anywhere although the landscape you drive through is so beautiful it makes up for it.
Local attractions Osteria il Bandito, Castagnoli, Via Della Croce 5, 53013 Gaiole in Chianti. Fantastic rustic food well flavoured and using local ingredients..served with passion and panache. Real not pretence. Really friendly and good value...you may want a larger waistband by the end of the meal as you will want to try the whole menu and the panacotta is superb.

Pros The hamlet was great, what a view... The apartment was fantastic. The infinity pool was impressive regarding the vineyards.
Cons The road to Vignale was very poor. It would need some maintenance and extra space to be more secure while driving and getting up to Vignale.
Local attractions We really liked the vineyards nearby and the little towns of Radda in Chianti and Castellina in Chianti.

Restaurants: Il Malborghetto in Lecchi, Il Ponte in Gaiole, Nonna Luisa in Vagliagli

Local attractions La Perla del Palazzo à RADDA.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs?

What were the highlights of your holiday? The quetness of the accomondation. And of course the wheater and Tuscany itself

what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    Very nice, a lovely house, with a magnificant view.

Did you have any unpleasant surprises? No

Do you have any other comments? The cleaning could have been better. The floor could be cleaner and in the kitchen the cooker hood was really not clean as well as the handles on the cabinets. But overall we were very content.
