Set near Gaiole in Chianti, the apartment is in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region. Guests will find excellent restaurants, wine shops and a small COOP supermarket nearby. Radda in Chianti, the historic Castello di Brolio with wine tastings, and the open-air Parco Sculture del Chianti are all within easy reach. Just 2 km away, the village of San Sano offers a local bottega and a traditional restaurant.
This charming stone-built villa features a terracotta-paved courtyard, a traditional pizza oven, and a cabana offering a generous, sheltered seating area for al fresco dining. Just above the villa, the infinity pool enjoys sweeping views, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun.
The apartment is located on the first and second floors. A private balcony off the master bedroom overlooks the surrounding landscape. Inside, original Tuscan features such as terracotta floors and beamed ceilings blend with elegant furnishings, modern bathrooms, French-style beds and linen-covered armchairs.
The owner lives on the ground floor but fully respects guest privacy and is happy to help when needed. Bikes can be hired onsite and delivered directly to the property, making it easy to explore the surrounding countryside at your own pace.

My family and friends were at Le Granchiaie for three weeks, and we absolutely LOVED our stay. Aurelio and Valbona were perfectly attentive, and we found it very handy to have them on the property. The home is clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. Bathrooms are large, and water pressure in the showers was great. (Often a niggling problem elsewhere!) The pool area is beautiful, with incomparable views of the Chianti region. Aurelio has a garden and surprised us with just picked greens and vegetables every day. The location of Le Granchiaie is superb. Besides being within an 45 mins to 90 mins of Tuscany's amazing sites, it's just 10 minutes from the town of Gaiole. We loved Gaiole because it's small, accessible, not really touristy and had wonderful conveniences--supermarket, GELATO, some good restaurants, a lovely pedestrian zone. Our 15-year-old granddaughter said Gaiole was her favorite place! I recommend Le Granchiaie wholeheartedly for a memory-filled vacation.Most people already know about the must-sees: Siena, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Pienza. All those places are beautiful and a thrill for lovers of art, architecture and history. But I was also happy to have the time to explore some lesser known places, such as Bagno Vignoni and Castellina. We went to Brolio twice, and on Valbona's recommendation, had a lovely pranzo at the Osteria di Brolio. We also had a memorable meal at Badia di Coltibuono, with indescribable views. We went to Assisi one day--just an hour and a half--a must for the Giotto cycle, and another day we went to Arezzo. A note to others: If you want to see the Piero della Francesca cycle, do not go on Wednesday, as the church is closed that day. Unfortunately, we found out the hard way! Most of all, when in Tuscany, the ride is 85% of the experience. Don't forget to take in the views as you drive those hilly roads. The rows and clutches of cypresses, the vineyards, the olive groves, the hay bales, the sunflowers--it will all astound you.
