Valliole, Lecchi in Chianti - Gaiole in Chianti - Siena and Chianti

Property is rustic and the views are amazing. Plenty of room to spread out and relax.

Malborghetto is excellent. Castello di Amma down the road is a beautiful winery.

The villa was perfect, the location was so quiet with hardly anyone around. The only downside is most things you therefore had to drive to. The rooms were a good size, the only downside is that a couple of the beds creaked very loudly, especially in the annexe. The kitchen was well stocked which made it easy to cook at the villa and the BBQ area was lovely.
The hosts were great if you needed anything you could message them and they would provide it. It was easy to collect the keys.

Radda in Chianti, Montereggioni en Siena bezocht

Previous (only) time I stayed at Valliole was shortly after original renovation circa 2005, and some wear and tear is obvious, but the place is still hard to beat! Set among vineyards with Siena appearing in the distance, easy to just chill out. We ate all but one meal on the porch over looking the gorgeous pool, talking well into the evening with candles burning long after the sun had disappeared. But then there are so many towns to visit and wines to taste.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to go to restaurant, Marlborough, in Lecchi. We waited until second week of our stay and they were closed. Enjoyed walking down to Lecchi for morning coffee at encoteca Ronaldo most days and love shopping for some thing in their grocery. Deli/butcher shop in Radda, Casa Porciatti, is remarkable store for us Americans. The restaurant in San Sano, La Grotto del Rana, was excellent. Casanouva di Ama wine tasting (premium version) was absolutely fabulous both wine and food, better than any in Montepulciano or Montalcino. Daniela is delightful and that tasting was a real highlight, so very close to “home” at Valliole. We also invited in chefs Jacopo Tendi and his wife, Anna Bigi (https://www.greve-in-chianti.com/tuscancookinglessons.htm) who conducted a cooking class for us at Valliole. They were fabulous and helped us cook one of the best meals we had, and the best tiramisu any of us have ever had. So many wonderful day trips are feasible from Valliole and we made it to most. Great time!!

Lovely house in a lovely location. The house facilities were very good. The house worked well for 4 couples with adequate space for all. We used the BBQ facility on one evening and hired a couple of chefs to cook in one evening (was excellent).

We mostly used Radda as the go to town for shopping and restaurants (good selection) and San Sano which is much nicer than Lecchi (nothing there apart from a restaurant that we could never get a booking at). San Sano is small but has a decent restaurant, shop, bar and a nice agroturismo where you can get breakfast There is a good selection of nearby restaurants, but they are all a drive away.

Das Haus ist wirklich toll und hat eine fantastische Aussicht und einen schönen Pool. Die am Haus direkt anschließende Terrasse ist ein Traum. Leider waren die Bereiche Terrasse und Pool nicht von den Winterüberresten gereinigt, was wir beanstandeten und zwei Tage nach unserer Ankunft dann teilweise behoben wurde. Auch sollten Familie mit kleinen Kindern gut aufpassen, da eine Eisenbank so verrottet ist, dass bereits Stahlplanken fehlen. Im großen und ganzen hätte das Haus etwas reinlicher sein können. Die Umgebung lädt zu schönen Sparziergängen ein.
In den Monaten Mai, Juni sollte man sich auf den Lärm von Traktoren in den Weinbergen einstellen. Insgesamt haben wir einen schönen Urlaub verbracht. Das Deutsche Team von To Toskana war sehr hilfreich bei den kleinen Problemen und hat sich schnell und professionell um unsere Anliegen gekümmert.

Wir können jedem "Nachmieter" nur empfehlen sich einen Privatkoch zu gönnen, tolle Köchinnen haben uns einen unvergesslichen Abend auf der Terrasse beschert. Restaurants haben wir nicht besucht da wir selbst in der Küche aktiv waren, die nebenbei bemerkt alles hat um eine achtköpfige Gruppe zu bekochen.
