Villa Giovannino, Camaiore - Lucca and Viareggio
An idyllic refuge in the quiet Tuscan hills sitting 13 km above the beach resort of Viareggio, Villa Giovannino is neatly designed but overflowing with character, with spectacular views across the forest-covered valleys. There is a terrace by the rear entrance overlooking a blissful garden with plants and trees and a pergola with sliding glass doors and an open/close roof option, furthermore, it includes an external/Internal open plan dining and living room. This area is adjacent to the kitchen, making al fresco dining a breeze.
The ground floor is occupied by a spacious open plan lounge-diner and kitchen area, complete with high ceilings, exposed wooden beams and a decorative fireplace. A useful white marble cooking island stands in the kitchen area, and unique and tasteful artworks adorn the walls. The kitchen is also equipped with a large fridge-freezer. There are two bathrooms within the villa – one on the first floor with a shower unit, and another on the second floor with a bath, a shower unit and a skylight.
As you arrive at Villa Giovannino along its narrow single track approach road you feel at home almost instantly. It’s easy to get lost in the peace and quiet of the outdoors here, surrounded by the fresh air, the neatly arranged plants, and the views of the tall trees, steep hills and green valleys. The generously furnished pergola is a particularly striking feature. With wooden floors and lighting above the dining table, its wide entrance can be opened or sealed depending on the weather, It’s a best-of-both-worlds space whatever the temperature or personal preference. The bedrooms all have views of the pool and valleys, with comfortable furniture and a warm atmosphere. Nothing to complain about here.

Wir hatten 2 wunderschöne Wochen in der Villa Giovannino. Es hat uns im Haus an nichts gefehlt. Wir würden sehr herzlichen von den beiden Eigentümern empfangen und haben noch zur Begrüßung kalte Getränke sowie selbstgemachte Marmelade geschenkt bekommen. Der Weg zum Haus ist abenteuerlich. Führt über ne Art Wanderweg. Sehr eng, sehr steinig. Mit einem SUV oder VAN kommt man da nicht durch. Auch wenn man ein geübter Fahrer ist. Wir waren mit einem Skoda Superb unterwegs und haben bei jeder Fahrt gebetet, das wir nirgends hängen bleiben. Die Fahrt zum Haus dauert ca. 10 Minuten von Camaiore. Tierliebe muss man mitbringen. Von April bis Juli haben die Nachbars-Frösche Hochkonjunktur und auch die Mücken waren sehr zahlreich vorhanden. Da gut mit Mitteln eindecken.Wir haben Ausflüge nach Lucca, Pisa, Florenz gemacht. Auch die Orte Pietrasanta und Forte dei Marmi können wir sehr ans Herz legen. Besonders der Markt am Mittwoch morgen in Forte. Das Restaurant selber in Pedona ist auch sehr zu empfehlen. Da aber unbedingt reservieren.
