L'Elce at Casale Bellaluce, Canale Nuovo - Orvieto - Orvieto in Umbria

What an absolute gem of a place, and what a fabulous location. Perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries but at the same time a good base if you are waning to do days out etc.

We did a couple of trips one to Rome and one to Assisi. Two local must are Orvieto which we visited a couple of times, one for the market on the Thursday and Civita di Bagnoregio. The best local restaurant we found was Jovez, but be warned, the is no menu which we loved so we had soup lots of little dishes which just kept coming and desert. And if you can’t finish it they will wrapped for you to take away. Only visit once a week as it’ roughly the same menu for a week. Will defiantly eat there again

Véritable havre de paix au milieu des champs d'oliviers,de noisetiers et bercé par le chant des cigales. Bien qu'un peu sombre, la location est fonctionnelle et dispose d'une belle terrasse ombragée. La grande piscine, juste à côté permet de se rafraîchir et de bronzer sur les transats. Petit bémol : si la location du dessus est occupée, cela peut être bruyant en raison du plafond qui est un plancher en bois. Location qui permet de visiter de belles villes comme Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio Pérouse,Todi. Nous sommes même allés à Rome en train au départ d'Orvieto en 1H15. Giacomo, le propriétaire est très sympathique et entretien à merveille le domaine. Amoureux des vieilles pierres et du calme , n'hésitez pas !

Wij hadden een zeer aangename vakantie in L'elce. Een prachtig domein, rustig, mooi gelegen, rijk aan schaduw, mooi, verzorgd en goed onderhouden. De eigenaar is een zeer vriendelijk man die dagelijks even op het domein langskomt om te kijken of alles in orde is. Enige opmerkingen van het huisje zelf : uitrusting van de keuken is eerder beperkt. Voor de rest : top !

Klein pittoresk dorpje Civita dat je vanuit Lubriano ziet liggen op de heuvel, Orvieto en de Cascade delle Marmore zijn zeker een bezoek waard Hostaria del Ponte : gezellig en lekker

It was worth every penny! The owner was very friendly and always helpful. L’Elce met our needs in every way. The garden is absolutely beautiful. You can see and feel the passion the owner has for his land! Our vacation was complete with a swimming pool at our disposal.

Without a doubt Jovez! At only a walking distance from Buriano Casale Bellaluce, it is a MUST visit. Food is out of this world! The service was perfect!

Prachtige locatie, goed onderhouden tuin en huis. Je komt hier echt tot rust. Goede tuinstoelen op het prive terras en meer dan genoeg ligstoelen bij het zwembad. Compleet ingerichte keuken voorzien van goede materialen. De gastheer was iedere dag even aanwezig om te checken of alles in orde was.
De boven verdieping geeft inderdaad wat geluidshinder, maar is te doen. Je bent tenslotte meer binnen dan buiten. Kortom we hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf.

Er is genoeg te zien in de omgeving. Wij zijn in Bolsena geweest waar aan het meer diverse strandjes zijn. Orvieto is een mooie oude stad, maar als je deze bezoekt zet je auto dan op de parkeerplaats voordat je het stadje inrijdt. Je komt anders snel ( met een gezinsauto) vast te zitten in de smalle straatjes.

L'Elce heeft echt een rustige locatie niet alleen het huis maar ook zeker het appartement ten opzichte van de andere appartementen.

Het zwembad is heerlijk en ik heb van Giacome begrepen dat hij komend voorjaar het zwembad compleet gaat renoveren.
Giacome is echt trots op zijn huis en dat is op vele manieren te merken, hij vertelt graag over de historie van het huis en kan u het mooie kerkje laten zien die hij ook heeft laten renoveren.

L'Elce heeft in de woonkamer geen echt raam, hierdoor voelt het bij binnenkomt een beetje bedompt aan en is het wat donker. Echter kun je de tuindeuren en voordeur open zetten, beide deuren zijn voorzien van een soort tralie deuren die je apart op slot kunt doen waardoor je deze deuren de gehele dag en nacht open kunt laten.
Helaas zijn door de tegelvloer van de bovenverdieping de bovenburen hoorbaar, het is erg afhankelijk van de bovenburen hoe veel geluid hoorbaar is.

The owner of Casale Bellaluce has made a number of improvements. All access roads to the property have been renovated and improved. The path around the pool has been renewed.

L'Elce has a new gazebo and also a brand new shower has been installed.

Lovely accomodation with everything you need. The site houses a 16th century chapel and a remains of a roman latrine! Beautiful, well maintained gardens with a friendly, obliging owner. A fantastic, family-ran restaurant, 400 metres from the villa was a huge, unexpected bonus.

A very minor criticism is that it would have been nice to have sun loungers in our private garden so we could sit in the sun when our table and chairs were in the shade.

Lack of attention to detail - kitchen implements - no sharp knives, no BBQ utensils - these should be basic and easily rectified
Locks on doors make it easy to lock oneself out! Happened twice once at 11.00pm - not funny!

Citivella di Bagnoregio Todi Lago di Bolsena

Peace and quiet. The gardens gave us plenty of space to play games without disturbing other guests. Very well maintained garden and accommodation. The swimming pool was a good size and clean.

We ate out in Lubriano at the pizza restaurant and the small restaurant recommend to us by the key holder which was delicious. We also ate at the local restaurant that you can walk to- Jovez. Great multi course meal!
