La Querce at Rocca di Castellina, Castellina in Chianti - Siena and Chianti
The country resort of La Rocca Castellina could not feel more Tuscan. It's an authentic working vineyard with a warm, homely welcome. The two cottages by the family farmhouse and hilltop barn are styled with terracotta tiles, wood beams, shuttered windows and arched door features that hark back to a simpler age. We were very warmly welcomed by Martina and immediately felt very comfortable in "Rocca". The house and the surroundings are beautiful, just as shown in the photos. But the special thing is the warm, friendly family, with whom you immediately felt very comfortable. The communication (mostly in English with Martina) worked out very well, she was always quickly available and gave us many useful tips (much was new, although we have been going to Castellina for years ;-) ) The location of Rocca is excellent, you can get to Castellina very quickly for dinner in one of the many very good restaurants. All in all: it was a wonderful stay, highly recommended! Thanks especially to Martina! She and her family are very special hosts - Grazie Mille!!!
