Villa Due Leoni is a great place to stay for couples. Located just off the square, on the main footpath, that leads down to the swimming pool and tennis court, next door to the hamlet’s small chapel.
Large double glass doors open directly into the bright open plan living space which is comfortably furnished with sofas, chairs and satellite TV (Due to heading to the ASTRA – Satellite the most programmes are not in English – more or less only news).

The fully equipped kitchen is to one side and has an oven with hob, fridge, coffee machine, dishwasher and dining suite. Double doors lead out on to the terrace area which has a table and chairs.

Doors from the living area give access to the large bedroom which has a double wrought iron bed a wardrobe and a door leading out on to the terrace which runs across the rear of the property. Next door is the bathroom with shower.
Outside the large furnished terrace, has spectacular views over the Tuscan countryside, with its olive groves and rolling hillsides and the romantic castle of San Polo in Rosso across the valley. This is the perfect spot to sit and relax with a glass of the local Chianti wine, watching the sun go down.
Due Leoni is an experience of romance, beauty, and luxury.

Only one child under 2 is accepted.

Montebuoni with pool and tennis
Discover the enchanting Tuscany in central Italy. On a ridge overlooking the beautiful Tuscan countryside with its olive groves and vineyards, lies the undiscovered Montebuoni, a group of private villas and apartments surrounded by olive groves and beautifully manicured gardens and courtyards.

The large swimming pool is to one side of the hamlet, surrounded by mature shrubs and trees, with views of the rolling hillside in the distance. This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt heaven. The swimming pool is 15 metres x 7.5 metres and is accessed by ladder. There is also a small children’s swimming pool, which has a constant depth of one metre. Both pools are open from April to October (weather permitting)
Montebuoni was once a large estate producing wine and olive oil.  It is these original buildings which have been restored and modernised to a very high standard, whilst still maintaining many of the original features, which make Montebuoni such a great place to stay.  All the properties are fully furnished and well equipped, most have their own private terraces or balconies and some have their own garden.
Montebuoni has its own full size astro-turf tennis court located in the grounds near the pool area, and there are rackets and balls available. There is a small typical Chianti village a short walk from the hamlet, with a grocery store which stocks all the basics, plus local wines, oils, hams and cheeses. Visit the next door vineyard Castello di Ama one of the Chianti regions finest wine producers for a wine tasting session.

For those who wish to explore the areas major cities and museums the hamlet is ideally located for day excursions to Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Pisa as well as discovering the smaller unknown Tuscan villages. Check out the events calendar on our home page to see if there are any festivals or events taking place that you can enjoy during your stay.

Pros Very attractive villa with stunning views. Unfortunately the weather was not great in September. We went out every day as the area has so much to offer. The villa was well equipped and the candles were a nice touch for ambient lighting.
Cons Not really
Local attractions Ristorante Malborghetto in Lecchi was wonderful. Although a bit of a stretch from here Montepulciano is my favourite hilltop town.

Pros - Ambiente

Pros The beautiful view from the terrace, the standard of furnishings (much more comfortable than most holiday rentals), very well-equipped, quiet and peaceful, wonderful location in the heart of Chianti, very clean and well-maintained. Loved it.
Cons Minor points - and nothing which affected our enjoyment of the villa. It took us a while to work-out how to light the burners on the gas hob. The lighting in the oven area is poor as the only direct lighting is provided by the lamp on the extractor and this was one of the few things in the villa which didn't work. The villa is advertised as having satellite TV. This works well except you need to be a German-speaker to appreciate it. All the satellite TV stations are German except BBC World and CNN. This wasn't a problem for us as we are not big TV fans.

Pros The location is extraordinary... the village of Lecchi is charming and unspoilt and the rural location and views are magnificent. The actual villa is airy and spacious, with french windows off both the bedroom and living room. The high ceilings are wonderful. What is especially good, compared to other rental properties, is the care and attention to fittings and equipment. the kitchen is really well equipped. But the real real 'star of the show' is the view of Castello d'Ama vineyards and castle, with the rolling hills at sunset.
Cons The pool area is a little bit characterless.
Local attractions The visitors' book in Due Leoni was very useful in recommending Lamole Restaurant, and La Bottega at Volpaia. The former is a real gastronomic treat.

Pros We loved the rural setting, quiet, private but just a drive away from touristy things. Some nice hikes to San Sano and along the winding roads. The villa was beautifully furnished and the CD collection made mealtimes and evenings memorable. We felt like it was our home away from home.
Cons We had cool weather and unfortunately the heat was turned off in anticipation of the summer.
Local attractions We loved our coking class with Simone at Malborghetto and the wine and food tour to Casanuova di Ama. We enjoyed Radda and Castlelinni and hiking and exploring around the villa. It was time to be still after the human river of Rome and Sorrento

Pros Beautiful location, especially the view from the terrace. Friendly local Trattoria's and restaurants in Lecchi, Radda and not too far to other great places such as Castellina. Really peaceful and quiet and great size place for 2.
Cons Can't really complain about anything.
Local attractions Malborghetti and the small bar and shop in Lecchi were really good and La Bocce (i think) in Radda were good. Nice Vinyards surrounding the property

Pros The views were breathtaking. Such a calm and peaceful place. We loved it.
Cons Only minor. A little far too remote in the evenings if you did not want to drive. Taxis are scare and expensive.
Local attractions So many! Siena, Florence, San G, Lucca, Lecchi, Gaoile, Radda, San Donato...the list is endless. Discovering the little towns are amazing. There was not one unpleasant place! We ate fabulously everywhere. Our favourite restaurant was Osteria el Papavero. Wine tasting at Casa del Ama...food pairings were fab. Cannot recall names of restaurants but recommendations left in the information folder were helpful.

Pros The space; the home feeling with music and books!

The good location within Chianti, but also within the complex; The terrasse - relatively private;
The tranquility, the charm and relaxing environment of duo Leoni, within the layout of Montebuoni.
Cons Well, we thought that for the price (or then add on a fee) there should have been sufficient toilet paper, dish soap, etc... within the unit. Since many, as we, are traveling light ++++ nowhere is it mentioned that these basic items in an apartement- type unit are not provided. Our experience elsehere did not prepare us for that...Nor for the tone of all the many rules and warnings... Which maybe are needed after some unfortunate experiences... But seemed to us a bit rigid. Another point would be to mention the warning concerning the water. We arrived late and thirsty... And did not dare drink the water... So we boiled it and pilled it. Here again it should be mentioned in the information package beforehand. Plus , in such a case, we would have greatly appreciated a complementary liter or two of water in the be unit . All these little attentions (relatively low in cost) would enhance the welcoming aspect of your product... which remains nonetheless a wonderful place to rent...
Local attractions We actually enjoy cooking tremendously and after having hiked for two and a half weeks in the AOSTA Valley and around the Mont Blanc, we bought fresh produce at the markets. We did have a few lunch meals in restaurants and enjoyed particularly the restaurant in San Sano you had suggested; the Wednesday outing to the neighboring vineyard with Daniella was great; the Antique ice-cream in Castellina which we loved as lovely town to visit. We also enjoyed just getting lost on the small roads leading to tiny villages/hamlets and having an expresso or glass of wine! We were treat ed at the Casaloste vineyard to a two hours personalized tour in French! We also ate in Grève, typical Tuscan soup, but cannot remember the name. We loved visiting San Gimignano where we also had a great meal,in a tiny tiny place that served wonderful ravioli and lamb +++ Voltera for us was a great plus..to be recommended.

Pros It was spacy, good terrasses to both sides (an apertitif-terrasse towards the front and an evening terrasse towards the west.
Quality things in Due Leoni
Cons I would have liked an air condition posibility. It can be very hot in the summer. I contacted To-Tuscany and asked if there was wi-fi and the answer was no. However there was which had been nice to know in advance. Also the signal is very poor at Due Leoni and to download my daily newspaper I had to go to the parking. Another wireless station close to the chapel will help this. When you pay 120€ you expect it to be ok.
Local attractions I would to recommend to good places to shop for food: Casa Porciatti, Radda in Chianti for antipasta Macelleriachini, Gaiole in Chianti for meet

Due Leoni
What were the highlights of your stay?    Visiting Casanuova di Ana, met some other travellers there that we will likely connect with in the future. Dinner & Lunch in Lecchi on various days - walking back thru the path (needs some clipping for ease of travel). Visits to Radda for dinner and wine tasting. Biking around Griole and area. Option for fresh bread and milk daily is excellent and very helpful.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation?    We loved due leoni, it met and exceeded our expectations for a self contained suite. Once we realized that we wouldn't be able to drive to the suite, and got organized around this fact, we loved the quiet peaceful contemplative spot. Areas for improvement are: front left burner is very difficult to light - I think it needs adjustment, it is the most powerful burner so one needs to use it. Small face towels - don't Italians use them? Bed side lighting is too dark for reading in bed. These were minor issues but I think the stove needs to be looked at. The binder was extremely helpful with clear specific instructions - we took it with us when we went out every day and got us to all the local sites with no mishaps.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? Only thing is that pool towel cost extra - seems like a petty charge when the linen is only replaced weekly.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? It was a unique pleasure to stay there - thanks for everything.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs?
