L'Oliveta is a detached cottage built from handcrafted Tuscan stone, set in an olive grove, with it's own large private gardens. The interior has oak beamed ceilings and tiled terracotta floors and air-conditioning throughout. With its beautiful views, it is a perfect place to dine or enjoy a glass of Chianti and watch the Tuscan sunset.
The front door leads directly into the comfortably furnished lounge/diner with sofa, chairs, TV and dining suite. This room really is the hub of the property, with doors leading to the bedroom, bathroom with shower, gardens and kitchen, which is fully fitted, with electric oven, electric hobs, fridge with freezer compartment and dishwasher.

The twin bedded room has its own private terrace with table and chairs, perfect for a quiet leisurely breakfast or sitting with a glass of wine in the evening. The second bedroom with double bed is adjacent to the lounge and has a window with views to the garden.
Access to the garden is from the lounge, down a small flight of steps to a large terraced area with dining table and chairs shaded on one side by an ancient olive tree. The terrace is surrounded by beautiful Tuscan shrubs and flowers and has incredible views especially, in the evening watching the sunset over Castello di San Polo in Rosso - a romantic castle that stands on the hills opposite.

Free Internet Wi-Fi for one device.

The air conditioning at L'Oliveta is charged by consumption.

Montebuoni with pool and tennis
Discover the enchanting Tuscany in central Italy. On a ridge overlooking the beautiful Tuscan countryside with its olive groves and vineyards, lies the undiscovered Montebuoni, a group of private villas and apartments surrounded by olive groves and beautifully manicured gardens and courtyards.

The large swimming pool is to one side of the hamlet, surrounded by mature shrubs and trees, with views of the rolling hillside in the distance. This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt heaven. The swimming pool is 15 metres x 7.5 metres and is accessed by ladder. There is also a small children’s swimming pool, which has a constant depth of one metre. Both pools are open from April to October (weather permitting)
Montebuoni was once a large estate producing wine and olive oil.  It is these original buildings which have been restored and modernised to a very high standard, whilst still maintaining many of the original features, which make Montebuoni such a great place to stay.  All the properties are fully furnished and well equipped, most have their own private terraces or balconies and some have their own garden.
Montebuoni has its own full size astro-turf tennis court located in the grounds near the pool area. There is a small typical Chianti village a short walk from the hamlet, with a grocery store which stocks all the basics, plus local wines, oils, hams and cheeses. Visit the next door vineyard Castello di Ama one of the Chianti regions finest wine producers for a wine tasting session.

For those who wish to explore the areas major cities and museums the hamlet is ideally located for day excursions to Florence, Siena, Arezzo and Pisa as well as discovering the smaller unknown Tuscan villages. Check out the events calendar on our home page to see if there are any festivals or events taking place that you can enjoy during your stay.

Pros Quelle vue!

WiFi mogelijkheid voor 1 apparaat i.v.m.
Enkele reis Euro 5,10.

Pros The terrace which runs across the back of the property is the highlight providing amazing views during early evening and sunset.
Cons It feels a bit dark and cramped inside - the property is designed to sleep 4 but 4 adults would find themselves getting on top of one another especially if the weather was poor and the terrace couldn't be used. We visited another property during our stay - Lavanda - and the airy open plan kitchen/living area was much more inviting.
Local attractions Malborghetto Restaurant in Lecchi - where we both ate dinner and also attended a cookery lesson with Simone - both excellent and authentic.

L´Oliveta
What were the highlights of your holiday? The exploration of the area. Radda in Chianti had a little COOP with excellent hams, salamis and cheeses and olves and pesto. The people in the area are very friendly and the wine tasting at Meleto wineyard was as good now as it was 14 years ago.
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    Overall impression was good. A beautiful place with stunning scenery. Felt a bit impersonal, a part from gardeners not many seen.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? L'Oliveta was unpleasantly cold. Heating with airconditioning units was uneffective and will probably be expensive. There was a woodstove there we could use, but with a child aged 1 1/2 not ideal. I was cold most of the time although we had the aircon on heating.
Do you have any other comments? See above

L´Oliveta
What were the highlights of your holiday? The winetasting afternoon was definitely a highlight, although the walk through the vineyards was unfortunately up the access road, and was quite a hike. Daniela's hospitality made it all worthwhile, however. Sitting out on our terrace in the evenings, looking over the vineyards, was something I'll never forget. The washing machine in the villa was also a highlight!
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    L'Oliveta was a charming cottage, it looked just like the photos and had a great sense of privacy, facing away from the hamlet and across the vineyards. The living areas, bathroom and kitchen weren't huge, but they were perfectly fine for three people.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? I was surprised how cool Tuscany could be in September. We had some rain and the temperature dropped quite significantly, particularly at night, and we needed the blankets in the cottage. There were some niggly things: the taps seemed to be backwards in the shower (C was actually cold), there was no sponge or brush for washing up. I was also surprised by the remote feel of Montebuoni, which seemed to be a very long way down a long dirt and cement track on the first night, with only one-way access at times, and the time generally required to get around when sightseeing, which is exacerbated by the narrow, winding roads. The driving was quite stressful, I'm not sure I'd recommend Tuscany as a relaxing holiday, and you couldn't really eat out at night without needing to drive back to the villa.
Do you have any other comments? Overall, the accommodation was everything I expected and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Next time, I would probably book somewhere where I could walk into a local village for dinner and then home again, or stay in a larger town like Siena.
I did wonder what happens to all the leftover items from starter packs - sugar, rubbish bags, detergent, coffee etc - since there is more included than could reasonably be used in a week. Some of these things I think might be better supplied in a small quantity as part of the accommodation rather than having people rebuy them every week.

What were the highlights of your holiday? OUR SECOND WEEK AT L'OLIVETA - KIDS HAD A GREAT TIME MEETING NEW FRIENDS BY THE POOL; PARENTS HAD A GREAT TIME EXPLORING THE SURROUNDING AREAS AS WELL AS READING BY THE POOL!
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    THE ACCOMODATION WAS FINE, ALTHOUGH THE LIVING AREA WAS A LOT SMALLER THAN WE'D IMAGINED FROM THE PHOTOS. HOWEVER, THE GREAT OUTDOOR PATIO AND GARDEN SPACE MADE UP FOR IT.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? NO, ALTHOUGH WE DID FIND A SMALL DEAD BLACK SCORPION IN THE BOYS BEDROOM JUST BEFORE WE LEFT!
Do you have any other comments? A REAL SHAME THAT THE YINEYARD AT CASTELLO DI AMA WAS CLOSED DURING OUR WEEK'S STAY. HOPEFULLY NEXT YEAR IT WILL BE OPEN DURING ONE OF OUR WEEKS THERE.
ALSO, WAS VERY CONSCIOUS ALL WEEK OF WHAT ELECTRICITY WE USED TO RUN THINGS LIKE THE WASHING MACHINE AND DISHWASHER - DIDN'T REALISE IT WAS ALL INCLUDED!
AND, INFO ON TRANSPORTING LUGGAGE FROM CAR TO HOUSE IN BAKING HEAT OF THE DAY NOT VERY CLEAR, UPON OUR ARRIVAL. ONLY FOUND THE TROLLEYS THE NEXT DAY!
