La Pergola is a spacious first floor apartment situated in the heart of the village. Comfortably furnished and well decorated in a Tuscan country style and with a covered dining terrace that looks out onto the little chapel in the village square it is an ideal choice for a family or group of four people travelling together.
Stone steps lead up to a broad terrace. These steps are shared with two other neighbouring apartments but the terrace of La Pergola is quite separate and screened by large plants. Passing through the entrance door you enter into the kitchen and dining area. A large wooden, glass-topped table and 6 dining chairs takes pride of place in the centre of the room. The wooden kitchen units and granite worktops, and pretty tiling add to the charm. The kitchen is well equipped with oven and gas hobs, dishwasher and under-counter fridge with freezer section. An open wood-burning fireplace that can be used in the cooler months is a lovely additional feature.
The separate lounge is to the right as you enter the front door. A comfortable room, it is furnished with a double sofa, 2 armchairs, coffee table and antique wooden dresser. There is also a flat screen TV and DVD player.
Stone steps lead up to the two double bedrooms and bathrooms. The bedroom windows are fitted with mosquito screens and have views out over the village rooftops to the countryside beyond. Both bedrooms are light and airy and have wrought-iron framed double beds. The first bedroom is furnished with a large wardrobe and writing table. The second has a large chest of drawers. Both bathrooms are finished in travertine tiles and have showers. Please note that the beds cannot be made into twin beds. However, it is possible to add a fold up bed, suitable for children only, in order to provide separate sleeping arrangements. The maximum occupancy remains at 4 people.
Outdoors the terrace is shaded by rush-screening and furnished with dining table and chairs. It is the perfect place to dine al fresco or to sit and watch the sun set over the distant vineyards and olive groves.

Fans are provided in both bedrooms.
The bedrooms cannot be made into twins.

Location: Montebuoni

The village of Montebuoni is the perfect location for your dream holiday in this unspoilt corner of Tuscany. Situated along the crest of a gently rolling hill; wonderful, picture postcard views delight the eye in all directions. The private houses and apartments that make up Montebuoni blend in perfectly with the landscape of olive groves and vineyards.
Once a large estate producing wine and olive oil, the original stone buildings have been sympathetically restored to recreate the feeing of an authentic Tuscan village. Inside the houses are well equipped and furnished to a high standard. Most have their own private terrace or balcony and some have their own garden.
Arriving at Montebuoni cars are left in the car park under the shade of the olive trees. Gravel paths flanked by aromatic plants and beautifully landscaped gardens lead to the houses. Strolling through an area of parkland under the shade of oak, pine and cypress trees picnic tables and benches invite one to linger and admire the view before arriving at the pool area and the nearby full size astro-turf tennis court.
Montebuoni is the perfect place to unwind in the beauty of it’s natural setting, or, for the more energetic, to take time out for an early morning run, swim or bike ride. Take advantage of bread and milk delivered freshly to your door each morning. Just place your order at arrival check-in.
The historic towns of Siena, Florence and Arezzo are easily accessible by car. Local villages are a delight to discover. Stop for a cappuccino and visit the local grocery store in the nearby village of Lecchi to stock up on local wines  and fresh produce. There are several highly regarded, family run, restaurants within a short drive.
This area of Chianti is the home of the Gallo Nero Chianti Classico wines. The vineyard of Castello di Ama, one of the regins prestigious small scale wine producers, is on the door step. Holiday makers at Montebuoni are warmly welcomed to the wine tasting sessions held there weekly during the summer.

Pros Beautiful, well kept and tasteful villa with excellent views in beautiful surroundings. Enjoyed the use of the tennis court as well as the swimming pool.
Cons Insect bites (but to be expected).
Local attractions Nearby Radda is a lovely Italian village with some great restaurants particularly LA BOTTE DI BACCO RADDA. Also the restaurant in Lecchi by the children's playground was wonderful.

Stay: October 2013
Pros My husband and I spent a week in Pergola in early October 2013 and found it to be the perfect apartment, setting and location for our travels around Tuscany. The home had everything we needed, was furnished in Old Tuscany style and we were perfetly comfortable for the week. We even cooked dinner once in the updated kitchen and it was almost as good as being home. The beds were firm, the living room furniture comfortable and we even had Wifi because the apt. is on an upper floor.
Cons The only possibly negative thing we could say is that the bedrooms are a bit dark. But that was okay because what would you expect from an old stone house.
Local attractions Della Rana in nearby San Sano was fantastic and the family running the restaurant even remembered us when we returned...three times. Lecchi has another fine restaurant, Marbugetti, which has a delicious menu a bit more on the "fancy" side. We ate in these two restaurants several times because we did not like traveling too far at night on those narrow roads.

Local attractions Sienne, Rada di Chianti, Florence, San Giminiano. Toute la région est magnifique et le moindre village vaut le détour.
