If you're looking for a non tourist activity consider going to the bowling centre on the road between Poggibonsi and San Gimignano. Weekend evenings you should book in advance.

Located inside the archeological park and open only on Sunday afternoons. It is a park which has a reconstruction of a medieval village.

Festa di S. Lucchese
For the patron saint of Poggibonsi there is a festival on the 28th April. It includes a religious procession around the church dedicated to the saint. Along the road towards the church there are stalls selling various objects and also food. At the end of the day there is also a fireworks display.

Held in October, this is an event based around the production and sale of wine. The seven areas of the city participate in a competition where they have to press grapes within a certain time limit, the winner is who has the most juice resulting. The winner receives as bottle painted by a local artist.

A frog festival held during June in Staggia Senese, which is a village a short distance away from Poggibonsi. This is an evening food festival specialising in frogs legs (a local delicacy) but there are other items on the menu for those who do not want to try frogs legs.
